I don't either Ian. I have a feeling Tony has the chin to wear out the storm and stop Miguel.

Knucklez wrote:DG - why should Hatton step up to fight Cotto and not the other way round? Cotto passed through 140lbs PDQ when he could have stayed around. Hatton is just as big a draw, if not bigger than Cotto.

And most importantly, why should Hatton, who is average sized at 140 take on a guy that is huge at 147 to prove himself?? Ridiculous.

Hatonn had the opportunity to fight Cotto when at Lt Welter, but he avoided it like he did, Corley, Mitchell, Witter, Zab Judah, PBF - Urkal

Cotto did not swiftly past through 140lbs, he was there for years.

Lazcano - Maligannaggi - Urango - Maussa etc do not bring bigger crowds than Cotto, but Cotto brings enough to easlily enough destroy Hatton, hence no fight.

To be great - you have to do great things. Hatton stays at 140 because he can be a bully peole and because he has a good 14lbs in them come fight night.

Remember - he weighed more nCollazo on fight night, it did not help him though.

Cotto was at 140 for 6 YEARS!

Cotto has fought some good guys the last 2 years, and deserves his shot at the big boys - but before then his reign at 140 was against some relatively weak opposition.

I wouldn't write off DLH completely based on the Forbes fight - there was some good things to take from that - e.g. his work rate for 12 rounds - Forbes wasn't just a punch bag either. I think defensively he'd be alot sharper vs Cotto / Mayweather - he'd probably have a bigger training camp. They were clearly looking past Forbes. I just hope he doesn't fight in that style vs Mayweather (it would be better vs Cotto) and I hope that its at 154 against Mayweather. Cotto is the naturally bigger man so weighin in heavy would probably suit Cotto more.

Remember, Forbes fracutred DLHs orbital/cheek bone.

I think Cotto can stop him, he would go all out to stop DLH.

DLH will NEVER gight Cotto.

Too dangerous.

As an Irish man i hope that croker gets it. It would a great chance to show off a great stadium. I wouldnt rule it out as ricky comes to fights over here and his brother has fought here. Weve had ali fight here. Hatton - Mayweather would be unbelievable but its a nice bit away yet and you never know, remember witter talking about fighting Hatton and we know what happened to him.

It happens if Ricky comes through his next two fights and Mayweather beats De La Hoya again. Then De La Hoya will fight Cotto (because De La Hoya has never ducked a fighter because they were dangerous DG).

imo the biggest IF is Hatton beating Malignaggi. Yeah he looked very poor against Ngodgo(?), but people have off nights and Hatton is yet to look convincing against a slick fighter and considering his weight, has fought very few and avoided more than his fair share. Paulie is tough and don't see it being past him winning in MSG.
