Half a Step Backwards!

Post by m1kee50 »

Was anyone else saying this at the telly last night?

I'm not an expert by anyones regard, but I kept thinking that instead of heading in constantly, Hatton should have thrown, then inched back, thrown some more. Lazcano was equally happy to work inside, indeed I thought Hattons best punches in every round were thrown outside the clinches. It just seemed that even with the reach advantage that Lazcano enjoyed, he wanted to do the fight up close, so Ricky could have sat in front of him and used that bit of footwork to stop getting into the clinch.

Well Hatton seemed to Enjoy Walking right into Lazcanos Punches. Hatton did appear to be hurt by him.

Hatton should be Happy Lazcano is not a Puncher, had Lazcano been a Puncher, Hatton may have payed the Price.

But Hey, im no Boxing Coach, not going to tell him what to do

It did make me laugh afterwards, when he said something along the lines of 'I should have done jab and move, but I didnt'.... like you say, it would have been a different story had Lazcano had more pop, as he did tag him.

Lets be fair this guy was only a jumped up lightweight & still hatton could not get rid of him MAYWEATHER AGAIN forget it mate

Wait for the blinkered Hatton gang to dispute what you say.

Bottom line is - at top level ( which he never was) Hatton has no business.

100% agree, but at least I can be constructive about it, unlike the man who thinks hitting return 8 times and posting a smiley adds credence to his posts. :P

Who does that?

In fact.I will explain, I work on spreadsheets quite a bit and I am always pressing return instead of using the mouse to move to the next. I had no idea I was doing it with my posts until recently. I wll ditch the smiley and add

I don't think you're giving Hatton quite enough credit - I think he is world class, but only just, sort of in the way that the Gatti's of this world are.

I know you weren't saying that exactly but just to be clear - Hatton is already a level above what Gatti ever was. Life and death struggles with Ward do not match a win over Tszyu, not even those over Urango & Collazo etc...

55,000 paid on Saturday, yup he's done alright.....

It amuses me that people who spend half their fornicating lives on boxing message boards dont seem to have the slightest fornicating clue that professional boxing is a WAIT FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a business

Go back to your small halls and your OJ Abrahams and leave boxing to the REAL fans (IE not a bunch of whinging old pudenda)

He is on the slide but he still the number one light welterweight out there by a mile. I mean what have Kotelnik, Paulie and Torres done better? Exactly, nothing. And Hatton's win over Urango with a flu looks better now after his brutal won over Vilches. Oh, and don't even mention Junior because I think even Ngoudjo beats him. Furthermore, Hatton is without a doubt the number one at 140lbs, and anyone who argues that is a fool (DG). He's also a nice, funny and down to earth lad as well, so your incestant hatred is pathetic.
