The memory is short. If you'd have just watched Witter Bradley you'd not give Witter a hope in hell against any world class operator. Regardless of Hatton being overrated, Witter is awful, time to let that one go.

As for this crap about your mum I'mgonna beat you this and that, my god they need some lower age limit on here, it's enough to make you not bother.

Well the fact is Lazcano was well beaten by viv Harris who was then koed by Witter!.... Junior may have lost his last fight but that doesnt mean he wouldnt still beat Hatton... after last night I think he would... Hattons style is made for him...
Hatton is one of the worst and most overhyped world level Brits of at least the past 40 years, but i'm not so sure someone as similarly mediocre as witter has anyone who is made for him, once you get past Euro level.

Even a waste of talent like Pat Barrett would have pulverised either of them.

Hatton a celebrity boixer.

He actually thinks besting Lazano PROVES he is number 1 at Lt Welter - Lazcano is not even top 15 these day - he was hand picked for hatton beat down and that says it all.

If Barett landed - its night night for both.

I thought it was a very good performance against a very tough, durable and courages fighter in Juan Lazcano. I personally didn't even give Lazcano a single round and had it 120-109 (with the 8th even). I mean sure, there's things that Ricky Hatton did wrong like lunging in with his left but he was in with a very open fighter and he tried to get him out of there with a Jose Castillo-like body-shot or head-shot. I'm sure he will fight differently against Paulie Malignaggi and he can probably afford those mistakes against him as well, because I can't see Paulie hurting Ricky one iota. It's against the likes of Bradley, Torres and some of the potential welterweights that Ricky could fight were he has to rectify that problem. But at the moment he's getting away with it and should do against Paulie. Good performance by both men on Saturday though. And Lazcano is one hell of a tough puppy.

Forget the cheerleading crap about Ricky. Try Steve Bunce's piece in the Independent today on the fight, or Steve Lillis ( one of Hatton's best friends in the media) in the Sport, who says it is time for Ricky to retire.

my take on the hatton fight is as follows..

ricky did a resonable job the other night, against a fella who is fringe world class only. the fact that hatton was in relatively big trouble a few times would suggest that ricky has dropped in standard as opposed to his opponent raising his game. some of ricky old intensity was there yes, but his punch resistence is quite considerably diminished. it reminded me of hattons vince phillips fight, a formality but in parts a bit of a struggle against a has been.

i think that cotto destroys hatton.

i think torres destroys hatton.

i think rendall bailey beats hatton.

i think bradley beats hatton.

and all of the above are because these guys can punch !!!

malignaggi would struggle in my opinion, but my opinion on maliggnaggi changes each time i see him fight. when he fought cotto he looked as quick on the jab as any fighter i have ever seen, but the other night he looked ordinary !!

No chance on that, Hatton will fight a little differently against Ndou.

I think Ricky felt he could walk all over Lazcano and he fought that way.

Against a notoriously strong, and slow fully fledged Light Welter - he will box a bit more, as he did vs Urango.

Bradley doesn't have a big KO rate.

hatton was only decent v urango for 4 rounds, the rest of the fight he was crap and lucky the ref did not throw him out of there

Hatton's slipped a little yes, but c’mon losing to Ndou is pushing it just a bit don’t you think???
I think Hatton's work is much more forced now, not as sharp and snappy as it was 2-3 years ago, I also think the knockout loss to Mayweather has affected his punch resistance both mentally and physically (every time you get knocked out badly I think it weakens your punch resistance anyway).
Still I think he has enough left to beat all the 10 stoners, there’s not exactly a big talent pool at ten stone at the moment is their?
Malignaggi is made for hatton, only 5 knockouts, no power, Hatton will push him back and outwork him over 12, it will be hard, close and messy but Hatton will win.
If I were Hatton I would forget welter, mayweather and America, stay in England, fight at the city of Manchester stadium in front of big home crowds every fight, beat all the other champions and contenders at light-welter, clean out the division and gradually earn Greatness that way, it’s what Kosta Zoo did!!

I think even Maliginagggiii can hut Hatton now with hs speed.

Hatton is way on the slide..

Lets see him unify all the belts, he can not do it, not good enough.

Are you DG in disguise? lucky the ref didn't throw him out - thats rediculous. so he held a bit, he still completely outworked Urango even in the "bad" rounds. Only decent, first 4 rounds was the best I have seen him in his career (with the possible exception of the Tackie fight). His movement was brilliant and he made Urango miss widly.

Anyway, he was coughing and spluttering throughout that fight, and wasn't as hard a pace and he didn't take as many shots from Urango. So he showed BETTER fitness this time than he did then (for whatever reason) - no reason to suggest he won't be as fit vs Ndou as he was on Saturday.

I aint seen much of Torres, but again a slow and predicable fighter from what I have seen, as is Randall Bailey. Hatton will have too much variety for them.

Bailey is not a puncher, but I did like what I saw vs Witter and I think he will mature to be a good champion.

Ricky has been hurt in the past, Magee, Urango, Phillips, Jason Rowland, Tackie, Collazo - all hurt Ricky... only class operators that didn't (that badly) were Kostya Tszyu and Castillo. I don't think his chin is any weaker than before - he was only momentarily hurt on Sat... and Lazcano aint bad, he's as good as some of those men who hurt Ricky.

lets just agree to disagree stu, i was not overly impressed with ricky on saturday, the opponent was hand picked and he caused ricky more problems than was expected. hatton peaked 3 years ago, i think that against a big puncher then hatton is there for the taking, he has lost his mojo.

People are looking too much into Paulies' good performance v Cotto. Cotto was dead at 140, in fact I think it was Cottos last fight at 140 because the strain on his body was too much to continue shedding weight. Paulie did not fight a peak condition version of Cotto. Hatton beats Malignaggi IMO and I'm usually biased against Hatton.

I completely agree with your post. Hatton's not a patch on what he used to be. I'm just wondering if he'll retire before someone (apart from Mayweather) gets to knock him out.

that is bull ... he is saying it because he doesn't want the guy to get hurt .. which, on the evidence of Saturday, he could be.
