What the hell was wrong with Jim Watt? his commentary was apalling, the way he ignored almost every punch Scott landed to the head & body, & the way he said during the fight that it was turning into a disaster for Scott(just before Harrison stopped him) & saying after the fight that Scott didnt deserve to be in the top 5 on that performance???

Tapia recently lost, Gainer barely beat Victor Polo & Oscar leon before disgracing himself against Juan Manuel Marquez

The winner of Brodie-Chi deserves a high ranking, but neither man has beaten a top 10 fighter as of yet

Paulie Ayala's only real fight at featherweight he took a beating at the hands of Morales

Harrison beat Manuel Medina who was ranked in the top 5 at the time Harrison beat him, so Scott DOES deserve to be in the top 5

Listen, McCoy aint gonna try & pretend that was Harrisons greatest performance, as he did get caught a lot early on & started slowly

But the way I look at it, is just because Estrada is unknown, didnt mean he was as terrible a fighter as the press made him out to be

Just cause you are unknown, dont mean you cant fight

Estrada threw everything he had at Harrison & Harrison was still coming at him, walking the colombian down, & throwing leather non-stop

People say the guy just crumbled, but doesnt that mean that Scott should receive credit for disheartening the guy?

After all, if it was all going Estradas way, why would he just give up?

People are once again writing Scott off, saying he would now lose to both Brodie & Chi, but many of the same people wrote Harrison off against Chacon, McCullough, & Medina in their return, & will writ him off again in the future

But like his namesake(hey ) he will show everyone that he is indeed THE REAL MCCOY

Gotta say mate that I watched it with the sound off and he looked terrible and Estrada isnt any good and is a very scrappy puncher who should have been dismantled with ease.

Harrison may have been under motivated though.

The thing that worried me with Harrison was this vulnerability - it was shocking to see Harrison hurt and looking small. The only time I can remember him being the smaller man was when he destroyed Steve Robinson , but Stevo wasn't the biggest punching Featherweight and he never was allowed to get into the fight.

I'm not going to write Harrison off, he's still quite young in terms of experience and I'm sure will have better nights than Saturdays. However, it doesn't bode well against better big guys than Estrada (who although was good - isn't in the callibre of Chi or Gainer).

Harrison can be hit and he can be hurt, which was the major worry. He must improve his stomach muscles, cause the body attacks were particularly hurting him.

Harrison deserves his ranking (and I still place him behind Pacquiao, Barrera, Marquez and Gainer) but I do feel all those would beat him and Chi aswell.

Don't write off Johnny Tapia either, the guy didn't just have flu - he had Pneumonia, and still took a good opponent to a spilt decision.

Well, I do rate Harrison, but I thought Sat night was a bad performance by his standards ( the 1st Medina fight aside ).
Estrada seemed decent enough, and threw a dangerous left hand, but the way he just folded was bizzare. I wouldn't want to seem him over here again after giving up so easily.

I can never get Harrison right. Performances against Medina (1st fight) and Estrada lead me to think that he's a one dimensional warrior with limited ability. However he looked like a monster in beating up McCullough and Medina in the rematch.

I think complacency is his problem. Either that, or he just gets confused sometimes. It was weird in the second Medina fight how in one of the middle rounds (hmm was it six or seven?) he slowed way down and looked bamboozled by spidery Medina after controlling the fight up till then... I remember thinking he must have slipped through a slipgate back to July or something

Jim Watt: I think he was trying too hard with his hard-to-please-mr-stern commentating persona. He did a good job with Morales-Chavez (A grade) but I felt his take on the Harrison fight a touch too obstinate (B grade).

Harrison: Better quality sparring maybe? I think he can achieve more than he is expected to if only he were to add a few little tweaks. Even a fighter with such an upright style can benefit from basic lateral movement: look at how Vargas escaped the knockout against Tito simply by making his head a moving target.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of regional bias (lord knows I've watched every Scott Dann fight through green tinted spectacles) but that was a poor performance from Scott against mediocre opposition. I certainly don't agree with those who're writing him off and saying he won't get any better, but he does look shockingly easy to hit for a world level operator. It seems (to me anyway, I'm probably wrong ) that Scott needs to make a decision. If he wants to make money then just keep him away from boxers with any kind of dig, and keep him running up those mountains. He'll always be tough, determined, in-shape, strong and a hard night's work for anyone. If he wants to step up to the top level guys, he needs to go to the states (or cough up to bring someone over) and learn to move his bleddy head! He's still young really, and I don't think we've seen the best of Harrison. Hope he trys to improve himself and push on, rather than getting comfy selling out the Braehead Arena.

As for people suddenly saying that Brodie would now beat Scott, well some of us have always thought that Mikey could do that.

I feel the same, he needs to go back to the solid, intense warrior who marches forward with controlled accurate shots to wear his man down and away from the mindless hook throwing monster he has become in his last two fights trying to bully his foe instead of using his controlled pressure. And what he needs more than anything is....a change of trainer, if he leaves dad and goes to a high profile gym or with someone like Billy Graham he could achieve all sorts at world level IMO.

Harrisons footwork is poor...when he fights someone with worlclass handspeed he will come unstuck...sparring may be the problem...but i just think that Scott is a bit of a plodder...I like to watch him fight though..and i hope he goes on to be the best..but it wont happen unless he improves massivly.

I watched the fight this morning and sorry Mcoy, you the man and everything but Harrison looked like shite last week for the first 3 rounds and was getting spanked and made to look like a static, one-dimensional plodder by Estrada who if he could punch would have stopped Harrison inside 7 rounds.
