CALZAGHE AND HATTON PAYDAYS

Post by overhand_right »

What did JC net for his fight with Kessler do you think?

And how about Hatton playing for 20, 000 people a time, and most recently 57, 000.

How many millions do you think? Is 10 mil wildly fanciful for these big grossing fights?

I reckon Hatton is worth in the vicinity of £20million with potential to double it in the next 18 months.

Promoting alongside GBP a Hatton v Mayweather bout at either Croke Park or Wembley in front of 90-120,000 people could well net him north of £10mill I would think.

Calzaghe about £4-5million.

I know nowt by the way, just in case the above doesn't illuminate you to that fact.

If you include PPV figures and merchanise, the values specific are way too low.

DLH netted $50-$60 for the Mayweather fight all in. That included a 2.4 buy rate and the fact that GBP received all money for the ticket sales (they always do BTW).

I would be very surprised if Calzaghe got more than 1 million for the Kessler fight as Warren is one tight m.f.

Its hard to tell what JC got for Hopkins, maybe 3 milion dollars if he was lucky? some hard facts on this would be interesting.

One things for sure, he'd have gotten much more for the Lacy, Manfredo, Kessler and Hopkins fights had he not been under Warren!

Thats unfathomable if there were 70, 000 people there, high risk opponent, Setanta advertising, plus a later buy by BBC.

Apparently Enzo had 700k for the Haye fight(Haye had something similar) and that was a huge fight, big gate, all the TV trimmings

Hardly 50 to 70, 000 though in the audience was it.

Less than 20, 000 there that night.

I heard JC got £2.5M and Kessler £2M

Remember Palle offferd JC $5M to go abroad - Fwank had to match it.

I think it's only recently Calzaghe has started earning decent money.

Throughout the WBO glory years I heard he was getting 250k-500k a defence.

He could definitely do with another payday...

Its true the Calzaghe only really got to cash in post Lacy - before that his biggest purse was about 750k to fight Veit in Germany. Manfredo was a huge cash-in for him and Warren for tiny risk. I think you are looking at at least £4m for Joe for the Manfredo fight and the Kessler fights combined. I can't believe he was far short of that for the Hopkins fight.

Who knows how much Hatton has earned post Warren but Warren reckoned he earned at least five mil under him and I think he has earned at least five times that since then. The UK PPV numbers on the Mayweather fight were a massive coup for the Hattons. If someone told me his career earnings were 40 million to date I would not be surprised.

Yep both JC and Hopkins got $3m each gross for their fight. Who knows how much FW takes (or whether his cut is on top of that).

When GBP made their first offer for Joe to fight Hopkins he went on record to say that the offer was turned down because it was less than he got for Kessler which he said was £2m.
