Wow, what a thread. It is one of those ones i am glad i read but at the same time didn't want to hear! Can't wait for the mentioned book though, should be a disturning yet interesting read.

In fact, it might be: Robinson, Ramos, Leonard and Malinga and not Mosely. but I'm not 100% sure. It's not really life and death though, I suppose.

Doubt Malinga makes the cut - Jones delt with him waaay too easy in a non-title match up. The fact that Eubank,Benn and plenty of others went life n death with Thulane just shows what a class apart Jones really is.

I remember that Jones-Malinga result because, if my memory serves me correctly, it was the first time Malinga had ever been floored and stopped. I wasn't sold on Jones at the time, but that win did go some way to making me a believer (though I subsequently lost a bundle on that pimp John Ruiz to beat Jones).

What???? boxers not quite as squeaky clean as their image is portrayed??

Fixed fights and mob involvement in american boxing in the 30s, 40s and 50s??

who in their right mind would believe that!!?? maybe real deal should be contacting the press with this far fetched exclusive scoop.

Do i detect some sarcasm neil r? Maybe we all know it's happening but it's always interesting to hear the stories, what do you think the massive rigged fight is he talks about? The Rumble In The Jungle perhaps? I would think not, no one takes that much punishment for a bit of extra cash

I always look out for sugars4 posts around the sites. It has helped me learn a lot about the older generation of fighters, their promotors and the fight game in general.

Another guy to look out for for you younger fans is John Garfield, another regular contributor to various forums.

Does anybody know any other good fans/writers to look out for, who write regularly on the "good ol' days"?
