Does anyone remember?

Post by Matchfixer »

Hi,

I was wondering if any of you remember BBC1/2 showing a first round? knockout by a black guy wearing yellow trunks (I think they were yellow!)

The guy walked straight from his corner and up to his opponent and finished him. (I don't remember if it was one punch or a flurry)

It was obviously from an undercard and it was shown on one of Haye/Harrison/Eastman etc headliners last year (possibly even the second half of 2002)

I think the guy may have been American (but I think he was fighting in Britain) and he didn't look that big so I'm guessing it was middleweight or smaller.

I think it was also his debut or possibly within his first 10 fights as I remember Inverdale saying "One to look for in the future."

Just wondered if anyone could remember this happening and what the guy's name might be?

Thanks

yeah, very quick. Inverdale did one of his 'dont put the kettle on' lines when he said 'blink and you'll miss it'. As soon as the guy was in trohble, it was obvious it was going to be stopped. Alerted me to Maxwell though, a dark horse amongst the light middles.

Yeah Inverdale always enjoys his stupid lines before a nights action, it gets tiresome. P.J. Maxwell stopping Andy Holder was the fight though, i think Holder is from Coventry...just a useless fact i remembered.
