Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
Yeah as long as Haye backs up his comments with good shows.
Just been looking at the top ten of the various governing bodies, and i see the WBA and WBC have guys like Andrew Golata, JD Chapman and Kali Meehan in the top 10. I wouldn't put any of those better than Skelton.
Everyone is betting on Hasim Rahman to be the 1st opponent.

Looks like Hayes' sole intention is to wind Fwank up, "sod the world heavyweight title, lets make FW explode"
By the way is there any way I can read FW's column online as I will not buy 'The Scum'

I was told that they were bringing Rahman over before the Macc fight but then things stalled when the Yank realised they were serious and he doubled his fee.Old bones Ian wrote:Yeah as long as Haye backs up his comments with good shows.

Then again, this was the same time they were telling me Haye would never fight at cruiser again because he couldn't do the weight (and they later told me they were deliberately pulling my chain - and everyone else's too - to get the Macc fight).

I believe it's posted on www.allegedly.tv but not sure how long the delay is - in fact, I've no idea what day it appears in the paper as I don't buy it either.banjo wrote:Looks like Hayes' sole intention is to wind Fwank up, "sod the world heavyweight title, lets make FW explode"![]()

Beadier eyes, redder cheeks, deeper pockets. Very funny.
There's no guarantee that Haye will have fought Klitschko by this time next year but as long as all his HW fights against top 10 big 3 belt ranked oppostion i'll consider him as walking the walk and enjoy the banter.

About time someone Said something to Warren.
No Offense to Warren, but he is the Reason why British Boxing is a Joke.

Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
You don't get many home fighters talking like that about Warren. Probably because most of them are worried they would be suddenly out of work. Is it just me or has Haye suddenly become alot more vocal since the mormeck fight? Insulting Warren and verbally assaulting Klitschko at that MMA event. I'm liking it.
Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
It won't be Rahman. The rematch the world has been waiting for with James Toney is taking place on 12th July.
Looking at the ratings the only name well known in the US apart from Hasim is Golota. Don King may want to preserve him for another few title fights though. The IBF has Ibragimov, he might be the best choice as he is a small heavy and Haye's performance could be directly compared to Wlad's no doubt very favourably. Sultan has no fanbase that i know of and usually has a pesky mobile style for most big fat HWs so he'll won't be getting many calls.

Yes he's become overly vocal and will look bad If he doesn't prove It.
What top 10 Heavyweight will he fight? Rahman Is fighting Toney again first and he's not even top 10 anymore.
I thought Klitschko made him look daft tbh, comparing himself to Holyfield as well was funny though.

Good for Haye .. balls of steel for def
Thing is he has to back it up now .. I`m not comparing him too much like Audley .. but Audley spouted off about Frank in the early days - and was forced into sending him a `Please Mr Warren .. ` letter not so long ago... I hope Haye never needs to .. just his chin is a big worry .. look what happened to Audley after just one Sprott punch
As for his shows, I`d expect him to deliver matches like he`d want ... great for the viewer I`d expect .. bloody hard for his boxers ..

He's earned the right to say this to Warren, after being disrespected by Setanta (who were hyping Warren fighters), disrespected by Warren in his columns (Haye will never make crusier again, Haye will never fight again due to hand problems, Haye doesn't want to fight Maccarinelli, Haye isn't the proper cruiserweight champ) and messed about in the promotion (made to enter ring second, weigh in time pushed back).Max Molyneux wrote:Yes he's become overly vocal and will look bad If he doesn't prove It.

Haye has had 2 more meaningful fights than most Warren fighters, in knocking out Maccarinelli and Mormeck. And he's already got as good a deal with Setanta as Warren, despite being made to look bad by their woeful studio work in late '07/early '08. He's breaking the mould, he's made himself a big name (on a Warren show, admittedly) and hopefully making certain other promoters up their quality during a time of competition.
Frank can make a lot of money for his fighters but his matchmaking makes a lot of us groan inwardly.
Warren has made a lot of ppl cynical about British boxing and it's good to see new, exciting rivals with big plans and plenty to say.
With (hopefully) more big promoters, there could be more big fights, more matching guys from rival stables, more choice for amateur stars to enter the pros, and a genuinely healthier climate. I hope Hayemaker can contribute to this.

Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
Frank gave him credit for beating Mac. Sentanta are giving him a good fight deal too.
The Mac and Mormeck wins were great but they were at Cruiser, not Heavyweight. He and smug are crazy If they think the champs and Klitschko would easily come to the O2 arena. Wins at cruiser don't mean anything to the Heavyweights.
The stuff there coming out with recently without proving It sounds fairytale like to me, I hope he does It but It's reminding me of Audley's stuff except Haye's won the title at a lower weight.
Hayemaker don't have any promotional experience yet to be a big competition, Golden Boy could give them that experience but GB haven't shown to be big outside the US anyway and may only be good when things are on their terms. The big fights they've promoted only happened when they had things on their own terms like some of Frank's shows.
If Mormeck can make his legs turn to jelly then the HW's he fight could do the same. Skelton would give him a tougher test than Rahman due to styles.

Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
Skelton's style is this. Hold round the back of the opponent's neck with the left hand. Throw short right uppercut with no body weight behind it with the free hand. He just holds ppl onto the punch and mauls. Hold and hit. Hit and hold. Left grab, right hug, as Haye puts it.
Golden Boy can give Haye great experience - Haye has fought in America before and there is little doubt he will again soon. If Haye becomes a big money successful heavyweight - and he has EVERY incentive to do so and not lose focus, he has the responsibility for his own fighters - then he can get big names over to the 02.
His career has already been a triumph, stopping two world class cruiserweight punchers/belt holders & he has every motivation to do things properly.
I like Haye's deal with Setanta, 4 fights vs top ten rated (by sanctioning bodies) heavyweights. This all has a real purpose to it and I for one am very excited because it means he is goign somewhere.
Haye said he wants to empower the fighters, to pay them what they are worth. He sees terrible holes in the way fighters of today are being matched & promoted by the current crop, re his comment about fighters stuck languishing in shitty contracts and held back from their fistic/earning potential.

This is good for the sport. We need people like Warren to put on good foghts all the time.
It is common sense. Put on decent even fights and people will watch.
The BBBOC should stop all this 'padding' of records that we have to PAY to watch.
If you want to learn, learn in the gym!
50/50 fights, COME ON HAYEMAKER!

Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
Haye's lack of Inside fighting could make him a target for Skelton's Inside mauling though, the uppercut could still hurt him and he was easy to hit flush against Mormeck and was hit and cut by Mac's jab too. His defense Is mainly head movement and right hand offense which the Heavyweights won't just crumble under.
Rough Inside fighters give him tough fights too, If Povetkin has a chin, his workrate come forward cleaner version of Skelton style could beat Haye too. Skelton would have a chance at winning.
I'd rather wait till he wins first than jumping on the train, It's all mouth and distasteful clowning. Maybe too many holidays with Audley have Influnced him.

Well It was only the play boy mansion and we know Haye wishes he was the Hef.Haye has fought in America before

"Secondly, as determined as he is, Skelton's the most boring heavyweight in the world. Thirdly, his most dangerous punch combination is the double-grab, right hug"
He talks a good day the more I read the more I'm excited about his advent at HW, Rahman is ranked top 10 by WBC Max

Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
Frank does deserve every word of it. He is the first to stick the boot in to a fighter not with SN.
One thing is for sure, Warren is precious and will make himself look like a spoilt little brat in his next rant.

Re: Withering anti-Warren tirade from Haye
Haye is very funny and he speaks out against the mediocrity that has dominated British boxing. The mediocrity that commentators and major newspaper writers are scared to go against.
Was it Rawling who wrote that after Haye splattered Mac, he "might be well served to sign with allegedly"?
