And you talk about Urkal and Corley as if they are Gods. You try to demean Hatton by saying he fought past-it fighters. But you could theoretically find fault with anyone's resume if you tried hard enough. For example I like Cotto a lot but I will show you how easy it is to break up someone like you do. He beat Quintana who is horrendously one-dimensional, he beat Malignaggi only just, despite being nearly 12lbs heavier than Paulie (and still struggled a bit), he then beat a waaaaay past it Judah who hadn't fought for a year (an was hurt big), then he beat another past his prime fighter in Mosley (and nearly got beat) who was 36 and then he fought a reality show star in Gomez.

You can rip up anyone's CV if you really wanted to, but you seem to focus on Hatton's only and it's pathetic because he is a nice, down-to-earth and talented young man. I agree he could've theoretically fought better opponents but you can say that about anyone or any fighter. I suggest to you is if you hate him or dislike his career then ignore him like I do with Junior. I also want my fighter to unify the division instead of sitting on one belt. I would also like for them to have a nice aggressive style with a decent punch and for them to cross the pond and make it in America and different countries. I believe as a world champion they should travel sometimes like Kostya Tyszu once said. But I understand that we don't live in a perfect world so I guess the latter part of this post if futile because we will never get the perfect, fights-the-best-all-the-time boxer, ever.

And obviously he's going to feel more confident after he beat Kostya because that's normal. If you walk around at a heavier weight than someone, if you outweigh them on the night and are actually in shape, If you weigh more than someone when you are at lt welter and step in the ring at 11st 2 and they weigh in at 10st 7ls & lbs and fight at 10st 10lbs - are you bigger or smaller? Just to chime in the Mayweather fight was first offered to Hatton in 2004 as Mayweathers first at 140. It was then offered several times in 2005 after both won belts, Mayweather wanted Hatton or Cotto for his November 2005 date. Hatton was quoted as saying he wasn't ready yet. Mayweather again wanted Hatton after Judah ballsed up the Baldomir fight. Mayweather said the Hattons wanted the fight at 147 to keep hold of the 140lb ring championship. Ray Hatton himself said they turned the fight down 5 times. Boxingchat has said similar things to my recollection

Hatton did move up in weight and him having a massive weight advantage is important to his performances. He's always outweighed his opponents and that's always benefited him - if Hatton vs. Floyd was ever made at 140lbs, I would imagine that Floyd would come in at about 145lbs and Hatton would come in at about 155lbs (I'm not quite sure how much Hatton weighs on the night when he fights at light welter). I believe that 10lbs difference would've made a difference rather than the 6lbs difference - he still would've lost but he would've been able to push Floyd back easier and it would've been more competitive. It's also the first time that someone has probably weighed in more than him and been natural at the weight-in without the struggle apart from Collazo - that's also probably had a psychological edge to it as well, because Hatton's used to being the naturally bigger man by about 10lbs-15lbs on fight night.

And I don't believe for one second that Hatton has been quoted as saying that he wasn't ready after he beat Kostya. It's understandable if he said that before he beat Zoo and I never disputed that but I'm sure he's not said it after that fight.

I'm going to leave it at that now because DG and I will argue forever over this. I'm an Hatton fan, a big one, and I do see major weaknesses in his fighting now and I also understand the blatant dodging over Junior but come on, he's achieved such a lot. I'm not saying that you should like him but stop spouting your crap and wrong justifications of why Hatton is so wrong for British boxing. He's a two-weight world champion and a numerous belt-holder at 140lbs, with him taking on another belt-holder and who most people seem to think is number two at light welter in Malignaggi.
