welliver mismatch

Post by razor7 »

I'll be interested to see if nz shape ( or anyone else) comment on a monumental mismatch proposed for June 28 in Wellington. American Chauncey Welliver 32-4-5 fights one Leamy Tato who has had no professional fights. As a mismatch this has got to be up there with the best. :x

You obviously dont no much about Leamy Tato then. He is 9-4-0 as a professional Kickboxer, and is a Former NZ Cagefighting Champion, and having just recently competed in a cagefight hes in good shape. He's big and tough and It's fair to say the guy knows how to fight a bit. He wont be stepping in with a complete novice, Tato has been in and around the fight game for a LONG time.

^^ perhaps the above gives him some chance to stand up for a while. But on the surface, it's a mis-match none the less. It's a tough boxing debut. All the best to Tato. I know a couple of guys who made the transition, had a go at top guys early, and soon left the sport.
