The next fight Mundine wanted.

Post by Marlin »

He offered Shannan Taylor $80,000 worth of tickets to be his next opponent. Taylor duely said he is not a ticket salesman and declined the fight.

Great move by Choc, that is the way to make an impact

The undercard has always been paid in this manner - hence mismatches left right & centre

Shannon would only last around 3-4 rounds against Mundine and would prefer to fight easybeats (like on this Friday's Fox event) for the rest of time in the ring.

In fairness to Taylor, he was ripped off many hundreds of thousands of dollars by Tony Caradonna and needs to fight to make a living.

How did that happen?
Could Shannon sue for the loss?
No fighter who is in there taking the hits should be ripped - but they are.

Can Mundine sink any lower. Can understand testing the waters at middleweight but NOT from someone who is the best ever and only wants to fight the best blah blah blah.
what a frigging joke.talks about fighting Pavlik etc ,says Calzaghe is dodging him then wants to fight a very very washed up Taylor.
In the interests of Taylors health(not that he is the nicest bloke on earth)i hope this never happens-foresee a Guy Waters type knockout without question. Not thhat Taylor seems to have much regard for his opponents health judging by the standard of tomata can he often fights.
Come on Mundine-get serious u dickhead.

Usually people like that declare bankruptcy if you sue them and you finish up lucky to get 2 cents in the dollar of what you are owed. You are better off if a certain high profile (and reputably gay) radio personality says something against you on air. He never checks his facts and usually sends a solicitor to Court to see how much the defamed party will settle for.

Its a shame Mundine treats our Aussie boxers as a joke and the sport we all love as a joke   .

The thing that really upsets me is that Taylor is a shadow of the boxer he once was, In his prime he would have given Mundine fits at 160 even though it was a couple of weights above were he was campaigning at the time. Taylor had the aggression Power and body attack that was great back then and i could have seen him making the fight very interesting.

You are right Ben .Taylor of sometime ago would of been a sound test for Mundine. And considering Mundines inability(or should i say unwillingness to trade punches)an agro Taylor would have caused him worry to say the least.IMO Taylor was a better boxer than Green so he would not of been standing in front of Mundine all night but would of still been bringing the fight to him.A proposition i think Mundine would not of enjoyed.
As for your firsst comments-spot on. I cant believe the ticket offer is how Mundine does his business-good on Taylor for saying he is not a ticket salesman. Figure the fight will not happen now and am pleased as Taylor would be hurt bad(despite hoping while it lasted that Taylor would find some form AND a punch of old and flatten the wanker).
Is Mundine next gonna try get Troy Waters out of retirement. How about Lester again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Perhaps even his dad.
