I once read an article on TigerBoxing.com that claimed that Andre Dirrell had an amateur record of 214-22. I'm not sure about its accuracy. I know that Andre boxed for a long time in the amateurs and won most of his bouts. I wouldn't be surprised if he had in excess of 200 wins.

It is not unusual for those boxers who start at an early age to compile a record of 200 or more bouts by the time they stop competing as an amateur. Andre Ward's record is accurate, however he didn't compete much prior to the Olympics. Dirrell could have only 22 losses throughout his entire amateur career - that's within the realm of probability. :)

For Andre Dirrell it is possible, for many boxers with 200+ bouts, they would have way more than 22 losses. I look forward to Andre Dirrell fighting for a world title with a year or so.

For what it is worth, I found an old bio from SHOWTIME stating Dirrell's amateur record was 214-22. He started boxing at 10.

His brother Anthony's amateur record was 173-20.
