Mora vs Forrest.

Not much talking about this match? Anyone give Mora a chance - he is going to surely have a fair old natural size difference and Forrest is at an age where is ready for the taking and hasn't been very active.

Forrest will be the favourite and Mora looks like Death only slighty warmed up at todays final press conference. He looks terrible - worryingly bad.

Forrest should win this easily. It's time Vernon got a really big fight again before it's too late. 154's pretty weak at present, but you'll probably have 147 pounders such as Cintron and Williams moving up soon, so things could get interesting.

I don't think 154 is weak in the slightest (apart from some of the champions). There are quite a few exciting contenders and prospects who are going to make things very interesting.

Apart from Forrest, 154 does not have a top 20 P4Per (and I'm not sure Vernon currently makes that list). It is, potentially, quite a strong division, but weak in terms of a "big" fight for Forrest in the immediate future. The only contender for such a fight would be DLH and that's not likely to happen. Forrest needs another Mosley on his résumé before it's too late and I can only see that coming in the form of a top welter moving up. I think Forrest's a great talent and it will be a shame if the remainder of his career slips by under the radar. I'd pick him over Floyd, but doubt we'll see Floyd at 154 again.

Provided Vernon's shoulder holds up, and it looks like it will, this should be a cake walk.

I agree that 154 is possibly the worst for talent right now. But I think in 2-3 years time it'll be one of the best with Cotto, Williams, Berto and Cintron all eventually moving up. Maybe Julio can pick up the momentum he once had, but I doubt it. Spinks still has it, but wasted it against Phillips. Mayorga is floating around there and maybe Chavez Jr, but I doubt it.

Jamie Moore has a great opportunity to win at least one belt IMHO.

Well, Kirkland and Angulo beat tough opponents the other week. HBO series Boxing After Dark want to feature both guys again (and super feather Yuriorkis Gamboa). Kirkland v Joel Julio is a possibility for Oct (along with Gamboa-Barrios). Both Kirkland and Julio are bangers. Julio has been matched tough since the loss to current world titlist Quintana, and while he's struggled at times, the tough matchmaking may have seasoned him for bigger tests. Should be a great fight to determine who challenges for a world title.

Also, we have Zaurbek Baysangurov v Jamie Moore in what should be another cracker.

Joe Greene gets closer to 154-pounds every fight and beat a welter (Okine) last time out.

Forrest is a classy champion and I think he'll beat Mora without too many problems.

The welters have been the glamour division but once they struggle to make 147-pounds they will all moving up to light middle (like the super feathers are now doing at lightweight).

I actually think Forrest's skills have refined since his welterweight days.

It should take one of the divison's many ambitious, hardheaded bruisers to dethroned him, rather than a wannabe slick reality TV hype job who shouldn't have got this chance.

Showtime appear to have offered Forrest and Dawson cushy contracts to keep hold of American world champions (though I could be wrong).

I wish Forrest was fighting Sergio Martinez instead because last I read Martinez was the mandatory.

Top boy Auto for finding out this info. Gamboa v Barrios will be an great fight! They really don't hold back with Yorky! Kirkland v Julio is another interesting fight.

Apparently Barrios could be committed to another opponent Rocky Juarez. I worry if Barrios can ever make 130 again. I think Gamboa has a tough enouhg test in Rojas at the moment, provided that's still happening.

Julio v Kirkland will be great and will put Forrest under pressure to fight a top contender, hopefully.

Well I still think DLH should be in the top 10 P4P. Okay, could be labelled a part time fighter - but he has fought within a 12 month period and did hold the P4P #1 to a controvesial split decision loss.

Thankfully Mora looks a lot healthier at the weigh in.... how he makes 154 lbs though is a bit of an accomplishment. He is a lanky Middleweight.

Very close fight, tought to score hence the MD. The press at ringside had varied scorecards. I had it 116-114 Mora. Forrest didn't use his jab enough and I was surprised that it was actually Mora who was better with the jab. Mora didn't win this well though and I can't see him being champion for too long, it wasn't a good fight really with the crowd booing in quite a few rounds.

Wow - from contender to Champion, well done the Latin Snake! Seemed like a good guy.

I'm pleased that the series has now had some justification - the Gomez, Manfredo title fights have been a joke.

Kinda glad Forrest lost, cause I thought Quartey was shafted when they fought.

I have to say big respect to Mora - I thought he would have been outclassed in there. Forrest had looked sensational in his last 2 fights whilst Mora had struggled against journeymen. But you just never know in boxing! And yeah. I would also like Martinez to get a shot - defo a badly avoided fighter.
