Re: tonights fox card shocker
You are absolutely correct. But aren't these fights sanctioned?????
How and by whom.Where is Lance's pride?
Many people to blame here I am afraid.
Oh and just as an aside ST opponent not that flash either AND PABA have an interim champion already in this division, (yeah I visited the web site, I'm off work till tuesday) So if there is an interim Champ............ why......... well..................... if the title becomes vacant, which it is, then shouldn't the interim champion.............. I must be so fuked up because i can't get my head around this shit

Thai Boxing Commission claims his record is 12-8, but I don't trust TBC so it stays the way it is - Some wins could be fictional & some could be kickboxing. TBC figures there's no difference between boxing & kickboxingbuster007 wrote:lance gostelow vs payakchai sithparadom.

Re: tonights fox card shocker
Sanctioned is a loose term. It really applies to a title governing body & not regulating body. But aren't these fights sanctioned?????
In OZ, regulating body whether government or non-government does not approve nor disapprove matchups for legal reasons.
Re: tonights fox card shocker
The undercard is not a good read and the main event (?) is a Barry Crocker.
Lucky there is footie and harness racing on the other channels.

Good win by Taylor,
He looked dejected when he said he wanted to stop in his corner. To come out that next round and get the win was awesome. Hopefully if his hearts not in it he will hang up the gloves and go out on a good note.

He really pulled it out of nowhere, didn't he? Seran seemed to be going really well up to then.ben k wrote:Good win by Taylor,

Re: tonights fox card shocker
It was a very courageous effort by Shannon to punch out his opponent who wore himself out using Taylor as a body punching bag for the first seven rounds.
Time for Shannon to hang up the gloves at the age of 36 and go out on a winning note as the body cannot take that much punishment any more. Fighters (and other sportsman) get remembered for their last efforts and a bad loss is always remembered by the public.
A future fight against quality opposition, eg. Geale, Dawson and even Daman would be a massacre.

Great courage by Shannan but i would not be surprised if we find out later he didn't train for this fight. no way did he have a ripped body like the other guy and he had a lot of trouble making the weight. But as I have said before I like him and someone should tell him it's time to go.

I'm a fan of Lance Gostelow and I know the Thai was a replacement, but what good do these fights do to enhance Lance's development. After 15 fights, he takes on a winlesss opponent who was clearly cannon fodder. His management need to have a close look at what they are doing. :(

Re: tonights fox card shocker
This is the way it is with Thai fighters. The Thailand Boxing Commission has now been given full authority by the Sports Authority of Thailand and thus is the organization who provides the records. While in some cases I'll agree that maybe some of the fights or fighters were overlooked and need to be added later, eventually they should get caught up and there should be none of this. But the TBC does what it takes to get Thai fighters fights - right or wrong.
The problem in Thailand is that there are fights in villages and elsewhere that nobody other than the fighters who are making $50 care about. Thus no one is told - the TBC doesn't have anyone at the fights and frankly, if they want me or anyone else to be at ALL the fights, then they need to appropriate some funds for this. Neither I nor Damrong can be at every show and if you think there are mismatches in Australia, come to Thailand - I don't go to some cards simply because I know the fights will be rubbish. That's not to say there aren't Australian fighters getting the tar smacked out of them - ask Chad Bennett.
I'm actually excited about Yodsanan Sor Nanthachai vs. Jimrex Jaca. Not a particularly great fight but Jaca has been around and may provide a modicum of resistance.

Same problem exists in Indonesia. There would be heaps of fights outside Jakarta that no-one ever hears about

Re: tonights fox card shocker
the problem with boxrec is there are big gaps in records and some of the fights are fictitious. boxrec is ''unsanctioned'' and should be treated with a pinch of salt.

I thought the Thai was doing well until he got koed, I am a big fan of Lance, but after 15 fights nothing is happening? he doesnt seem to be progressing at all.
IMO he should take a shot at the National title next, but no matter what he does he cannot keep fighting this ridiculously over matched opponents.
