Incredible if he is skint given the amount of money he's earned. Still 11 kids and an ex wife can swallow up an awful lot of cash, apparently.

Surprising considering Holyfield was reputedly careful with his money, even tight-fisted. Had it been well-invested, the interest on the money he's made should have been enough to maintain a very good lifestyle and pay child support for about a dozen kids. I think one needs to beware of financial advisors or "advisors" in general.

Well seeing as i scrap along paying my mortgage, bills etc , i can't feel sorry for people who do blow vast amounts of money.
I do however like Holyfield and he's getting into dangerous water if the money has gone and he only has boxing left to earn some more.

You don't think it could be Haye v Holyfield soon?

Perhaps its because he is so tight he wont pay anything, or parhaps he just forgot to pay,who knows. Just because you get into debt dosent mean its always because your broke.

Just a thought, what kind of shack must this be?

$10M mansion with 120 rooms?

I suppose land is cheap in the states, but that sounds like a snip when you consider London prices. A basic 5 Bed house in Clapham would cost you £1M ( $2M).

Atlanta. here I come!

He must be in some financial trouble because the auction in on 1st July for the house.

I wonder if the same people advised him that advised hs one time Manager and friend MC Hammer.

Crazy to think he is broke, but no pre nup? you are asking for it.

Holyfield Responds

Post by DG. »

Holyfield: “I’m Not Broke!”

By Lisa Scott
Despite recent reports that Evander Holyfield is broke, the former champ told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “I’m not broke. I’m just not liquid. I do feel kind of sad because things have always been positive and now everybody wants to jump on me like I’m the worst person in the world and I went out and blew all my money.” Holyfield’s lavish 109 room estate, which sits on 235 acres of land in a suburb outside of Atlanta (and is located on Evander Holyfield Highway), was reportedly scheduled for auction on July 1st. However, his lawyers are now claiming that the estate, valued at $20 million, is no longer up for auction. While he would not elaborate, Holyfield stated: “Everything is alright with the house now.” Regarding his alleged failure to make child supports payments, The Real Deal said: “Never. I would NEVER do something like that. That’s been a consistency in my whole life. I have always taken care of my children. It’s just one of the mothers who is saying something because she thinks it will embarrass me. I just have to roll with the punches in this situation.” Holyfield has always been known to persevere through adversity and has ‘rolled with the punches’ throughout his entire career. Fight fans are confident that boxing’s only four-time heavyweight champ will be able to win this bout too.
