That 2/5 was looking dodgy in the first six rounds... :D

I thought, all told, he put in a fair performance. He'll have learnt a lot from that and I'll look forward to his fight with Dodson.

He's certainly not the next coming of Joe Calzaghe. Too easy to hit.

I did cringe at the BBC intro sequence.

"The best prospect in world boxing"

Well....I just hope Miguel Cotto didn't happen to tune in....

I thought exactly the same!
And Jim Neilly was back to his worst tonight. He kept saying that Adamu had fought his 12-rounder with Typsko "just over a month ago", or "just six weeks ago". It was 13 fornicating days ago. On February 28! Can't he add up!

Neither of them seem capable of pronouncing names correctly, which is annoying.

It's amazing the number of times Howard "Eastwood" boxes on the BBC, and Duke seemed obsessed with Carl "Croch" for half the show tonight.....

froch for the first 7 rds was terrible i had him 5 rds to 2 behind and i still don't quite know how i gave him those 2 rds :-?

but luckily for froch adamu's stamina went down the drain  and from then he couldn't lose. but i thought it was more adamu losing it with his stamina going than anything froch did.

duke mckenzie cracked me up "croch hasn't started to badly"

Think how much worse it would be if his points loss to Willie Yoppy, not so long ago, never got a mention

I'm going to really stick my neck out. Froch will never win a major world title.
I know he's just starting his pro career, he's learning with every fight....etc.

He's 26 now, which doesn't really give him a lot of time.
His hands are held too low, and his reactions aren't good enough to fight like that. If he steps up in class without a huge improvement to his defense he's going to really find it hard.

At least last nights fight answered one of my questions about Froch, he definitely has a solid chin.

Froch fought like a man whose only had a handful of pro fights. Wait a minute...!

I was rather disappointed but he found a way to win, which is important. Jury is still out I think but the evidence isn't looking good.

Dear me, I will defend commentators, etc because like many jobs it looks a lot easier than it actually is but Jim Neilly was very poor last night. Some of the things he says make me cringe but he will definitely get away with it to a general audience. Say something confidently enough and you can get away with murder.

The Beeb and Goodall made a couple of mistakes last night. I think Goodall said Froch was 13-0 before the fight! and then the beeb put up McDonald instead of McDonnell. Amateur mistakes really..

Saddo to spot them I know!!! :o

I was impressed with Froch's stamina, but he's too open, and anyone with a big dig is going to knock him out.

I tell you what, if Adamu had of come into this fight fresher, he may have won it. I think him fighting a dozen or so days ago helped Carl.

I still rate Froch, but to me he struts around as though he has already made it, when in reality he still has a long way to go.

A feeling of dread overcame me when Goodall paused before reading out Damon Hague's name. It wasn't for dramatic effect, that was obvious. I just think he is confused for a lot of the time, these days!

At least Froch learnt more from this fight than any of his previous ones combined:
1/ He can go 12 no problem.
2/ Not every one keels over as soon as he hits them.
3/ If he doesn't keep that left up, his left ear is going to end up considerably bigger than his right one.

He's obvously a fan of Tommy Hearns, the way he shoots that jab from the hip, even swaying it back and forth before he does. Trouble is, he's going to come unstuck at some point the way he's going. Just too easy to hit with the right hand at the moment.

He showed class to come through in the end though, after a poor start. Chin looked ok too.

Looking forward to that Dodson clash even more now.

After a considerly dodgy performance it seems that Froch still believes his own smug publicity. "I looked good in there" he said after the fight!
I dont know what fight he thought he was in but it wasnt the one i watched.

Tagged countless times by adamus right hand thanks to having his left ridiculously low. if a guy chooses to fight with his left hand so low then he is presumably realying on his reflexes and anticiaption to avoid his opponent right hand. judging by the amount of times he was hit by adamus right then froch doesnt seem to have that skill. his footwork left a lot to be desired, avoiding punches by leaning forward, being outfought for more or less half the fight by a guy who had done a 12 rounder only a few weeks previously

Still on the upside as others have said at leas he knows he can go 12 rounds. But surely someone as hyped as Froch should never have had to go the distance against an opponent like Adamu, who lets be honest had no real game plan other than to swarm Froch and throw the big right after a left. but time and time again Froch had problems dealing with this. There were a couple of occasions early in the fight when Froch hit Adamu with a good right uppercut after Adamu threw his right but Froch didnt seem to pick up on this.

And we found out he can take a punch, well maybe thats a good thing. But then perhaps if he had used his much vaunted skills, his apparent speed and his so called technical skills as well as lifting his lift hand, then he would never have been in a position to show his punch resilience.

I dont think Froch won the fight due to the fact that he stamped his authority on the fight after the 6th round. I think it was more a matter of Adamu tiring and letting Froch in.

I think you guys have been a bit too critical of Froch's performance.

Yes he did get hit too much and that needs to be fixed. However, Adamu was a very good boxer who used a boxing style that is obviously not easy to fight against.

I think the way he came back into the fight showed championship winning mentality. Even before the knockdown he had started to get into the fight after a slow start.

The only problem I had lst night was Mckenzie's unofficial scorecard after the first 5/6 rounds which was picked up on by Inverdale after the fight.

i've been hearing so much about this froch guy, and i have to say, he is pathetic.

the way he holds his hands and moves around the ring, he obviously believes hes a stylist, but he has no style, he slaps with his punches (like soooo many british fighters), hes limited and generally hopeless.

this guy has no chance at world level & its going to be another dissapointment for the BBC.

and what the fornicate was that cartoon bullshit at the end? how dare the BBC insult our fornicating intelliegnce this is not fuckin wrestling. can you imagine that kind of cheesy bullshit back int he classic days of ITVs fight night???

these pudenda dont have a clue. fornicate off. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Froch tries to fight like some super-talented hybrid of Hamed, Hearns and Roy Jones when he quite clearly isn't. I don't see him lasting too long before that 0 turns into a 1 and the 1 into a 2 and so on....

What was that cartoon about?! I thought it was about to turn into the Incredible Hulk!

Anyone else laugh at Hennessy standing up and shouting from ringside basically saying
"Don't lose this Carl... I've got a lot of money invested in you"

I thought he was about to have a heart attack.

he won by 1 round imo. He did well to pull out the victory, it was hard to see how he would turn it around after 6 rounds. He's far to easy to hit and i cant see him progressing far beyond domestic level.
