I posted before the fight that Wlad was taking a big risk fighting Sanders.
He'd looked very casual in his previous few fights, and we all know Sanders comes out like an express train.

Vitali will know exactly what to expect this time. He'll be leaning back and sticking his jab in Sander's face. Corrie will have big trouble reaching his chin.
Vitali showed a decent chin against Lewis, and that big right hand of his will flatten the fragile Sanders as soon as it lands.

im not so sure.
i think its more of a 50/50 fight than is being touted.
At the end of the day when you bang as hard as saunders does you do stand a good chance, do you think that Vitali might have probs with the southpaw style? Its possible. Saunders loves that straiught left through the guard so Vitali better make sure his is good.

The smart money back vitali of course, but got a funny feeling bout this one. Cant wait to find out tho, its the best match up of a bad bunch at the min.

you are correct but its not that difficult an error to make is it especially with Corey Sanders, and Corrie Sanders makes you want to differentiate further but you are indeed correct its Sanders not Saunders.

Yes, I noticed this. I've seen it referred to this (EU heavyweight championship of the world) elsewhere too. Looked on the EBU site but couldn't find it called this in those exact words. Wouldn't surprise me though, which is the sad thing.

Re Money, sorry, Manny Steward - it was reported in last week's BN that VK was being co-trained by Fritz Sdunek and Manny. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll be in his corner. He could have yet another commitment!

By the by, I saw Corrie Sanders fight in Darlington back in 1991. Yes, sounds crazy but it's true. I remember he looked very Afrikaans - unfashionable haircut with a big tash. Little did I know then...

New post on Current Scene says Wlad has fired Sdunek and that Manny is in sole control. Not sure if that also applies to Vitali.

This ain't good going into a big fight. Vitali needs to have a better trainer than Steward in my opinion, who is a has-been. Sanders may have more than just a puncher's chance now.

The more I think about this fight, I've got to ask this ' Is Vitali the Underdog in this fight?'.

The fact is Sander's has faced better opposition and has bigger Wins.

I'd say Corrie Sanders is probably the BEST ALL-ROUND ATHLETE IN THE WORLD!

He's was good enough to have turned pro at GOLF, SWIMMING and TENNIS as well as BOXING. His body has flexability, speed and movement! He knocks his opponents out because of his lightening SPEED, not STRENGTH. His body is like Andre Agassi's, slightly fat and tired looking but PERFECT ELASTICITY!

To be honest, this could be a quick night for Sanders. The guy will prove too fast and athletic for Vitali and smash him up from the start!

The fact is Sander's has faced better opposition and has bigger Wins.

Nasty, I think the clues as to who wins this fight are more in their losses than their wins.
Sanders has been flattened twice, by Tubbs and Rahman. This man's chin aint great.
We've never seen Vitali hurt by a punch. So he's a big puncher with a decent chin. You have to favor him over the world's most athletic golfer.

Still a very good match. I love the way Corrie comes out swinging, and the big man may well have a few scares on the way.

The trainer problems (he has chopped and changed before now too) could have an effect. I like Vitali in this one because of the reasons mentioned above but what if he has to go to plan B? Does he have one? I don't think he does. If Corrie is on his game and can hang around, it could get interesting.
