yeah thanks for your snide comment neil. since its not actually me in trouble, and since i dont fancy paying a lawyer to pick his brains, i thought i might just throw the question out there since i was here and it was on my mind.
Your cousin is more than likely gonna have to foot the bill. It doesn't matter that he was provoked, the judge will say that his negligence caused the injury, so he has to pay.

do you think the judge will also throw in legal expenses and 'trauma' or some kinda bullshit too?
anmd what happens when he tells them he has no money?
I'm doing A-level law at college, and i'm pretty certain your cousin will have to pay. It basically comes down to that bulls**t saying, "two wrongs don't make a right". At the end of the day, your cousin has no real defense. Getting your trousers pulled down, does not warrant knocking someones teeth out, even if it was an accident. The judge is unlikely to award extra damages, unless the other guy turns on the water works, and turns in an oscar nominated performance. He'll probably just have to pay for the dental costs, the judge is unlikely to fall for that s**t. Just tell your cousin to keep his cool, judges don't like big mouth's.
were there any witness in vicitms favour, if there isnt i am pretty sure he cant do anything, if your mate says he didnt do anything and he has mates to back him up, i am sure they will threw the case out the window
