Anyone speak Thai?

Ok, this is a severe longshot but I watched a show from Thailand (channel 7) from (supposedly) 4/29/08. This would be the corresponding boxrec entry:

There were a total of 5 fights aired. The first two had formal intros (in Thai of course) and the main event (second fight aired) corresponds with what boxrec has: a PABA minimumweight title between Kwanthai Chor Nor Pattalung and Zhang Yuan Boau.

The first fight was also intoduced and looks like it was in fact Denkaosan Kaovichit (although he was announced as Kratingdaenggym...a common thing in Thailand for a fighter to take on his gym's name). But his opponent was clearly announced as Wang Jun Hui, not Erwincharh Aneck. Now this could have been footage from a previous card, who knows. But it was all on the same aired show. Boxrec has no record of Kaovichit fighting Hui. Not that those Thai records are complete by any means.

Next were 3 more fights. The first ended in a first round KO, the second a 6 round decision, and the third also a 6th round decision. The problem is there were no formal intros...just the action starting with the announcers talking. Not much in the way of graphics either, so I can't simply post a screenshot. I assume somewhere in the broadcast they mention the fighters names. So what I'm trying to do here is make out who was who. I keep a database of all the fights I watch and I really hate having blanks in there.

So, anyone willing to help me investigate? The video file is pretty big (1GB) but I extracted the audio at around 64MB. I could post that on a file hosting site so someone could download it. I could even list the times each fight started. I need a Thai speaker here.

Editors Scott and Damrong are both located in Thailand and assist greatly, perhaps over 90% of all results coming from Thailand. PM them would be my suggestion. Thanks for your contributions

Trying to keep track of Thai boxers is absolute murder, i had awful situation with this thai boxer http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?hu ... &cat=boxer came to Russia. We still unaware who really it was.

Both Damrong and I read, write and speak Thai, he better than I as he's a native but I am fluent.

5 fights aired which means there were actually 7 or 8 fights. I was not at this fight and I doubt Damrong was as it was a WBA (PABA) fight and he generally only covers WBC bouts since he's with the WBC.

No, the Thai records are not complete but neither are the records of many other countries.

If the person announced was Hui then logically speaking the fighter should be Hui.

Actually, the fighter may not only take on his gym name but the sponsor - and/or. Kratingdaenggym is not a gym per se but the sponsor - Red Bull or Krating (Bull) Daeng (Red).

I see that Editor Jia changed the fighter from Hui to Aneck. First - NOBODY but Damrong or myself is to change the records or fights involving a Thai fighter in Thailand as per John Shep. It's hard enough keeping up with the records without someone from another country making changes. Lately I've noticed additions and deletions in the Thailand section.

Normally I go to the fights or at least watch them on TV. If I go to the bouts I try and get a program and make sure the fighter announced and the fighter on the program match up. If they announced the fighter as Hui it wasn't from a previous card. Rarely are previous shows shown on cards like the one you're referring to - a card with no major fight, only fights to showcase the Thai and give them a "warm-up."

It's not nearly as difficult as you think but my guess is communication/language has alot to do with the problem. I'm assuming that you or whomever was responsible checked his passport name. If you have this we should be able to figure out who this is. Nonetheless, there is a chance the guy who came had 100+ Muay Thai bouts and never had a pro boxing match and this was his first. That would not surprise me.

So far no one has PM'd me. I'm willing to take a look at the show in question and see what's what.
