Give Chris_23 a break

Post by scrap iron »

There's been a few suggestions that Chris_23 is too embarrassed to come back on this forum, but I would imagine he still hasn't returned from the states yet. Chris seems a nice guy who was just trying to get behind his friend. I'm sure when Chris is back on this forum he will answer some of the comments that have been made. :TU:

Getting up the behind of his friend more like.

And why does he have to wait to come home to post? There are plenty of internet connections at airports and hotels.

I agree with 'scrap iron', cut him some slack. Chris was merely bigging up his best mate.

Thank you for this, you are quite right because we got back mid afternoon today seriously deprived of sleep. Even if he'd won i wouldn't have been on here before now because I was more interested in getting a bronzee and drinking beer than chatting Shite with you Ebeneezer LOL, if you'd rather spend your time on the net then you be my guest..

If I'd realised I was boxrecs roving reporter for the Lockett fight I would have charged expenses  Instead of reporting back to boxrec I was actually flat out on the piss in Atlantic City, but can I have my Blue Peter badge anyway...? :TU:
Seriously paying for it now though!!

For those of you revelling in Lockett's loss then shame on you (unless you are American). Everyone has a take on what went wrong and can make some witty little remark to make a joke of Lockett's effort, but I ask you this;

1. Did he go on his arse? A. No and 29 others did. He didn't get sparked out on his back like A LOT OF PEOPLE were saying, you know who you are...
2. Did he disgrace himself? A. No, Pavlik was very respectful.
3. Did he fight a great champion who was UNDISPUTED CHAMP? A. Yes
4. Did he make us proud? A. Hell Yes!!
5. Would I big him up here again? A. Hell Yeah!!

I also met up with DaveySwan off here who was a top lad too!

Pavlik is a very decent guy. It's great for boxing to have someone like him as the best in a division. :TU:

I don't know what point you're trying to make with this.

He was badly swelled up, knocked down three times and on his way to a brutal KO loss before old man Calzaghe saved the day.

And nobody is "revelling" in his loss. The outcome just simply verified what many on this board were daying for months - that Lockett was totally out of his depth at this level.

There are a few guys on other threads here saying he should be ashamed of himself etc etc which is disgraceful not so much on this thread. It was just I couldn't be arsed to go on all the threads to respond.

I'm not getting drawn into arguing each point; he did his best, couldn't get inside the jab, and his best wasn't good enough but against the best middleweight in the world by a country mile that is no shame. The guy was just too good simple as that.

Wright answer......He should never of been their in the first place, he did not land a punch of note.

2. Did he disgrace himself? A. No, Pavlik was very respectful.

Wright answer.....Pavlik is one of the most respectfull and humble champions ever, he would say that. Dont think for one minute in years to come Gary Lockett will look good on his record.

3. Did he fight a great champion who was UNDISPUTED CHAMP? A. Yes

Wright answer.....Gary Lockett did not fight anybody he just got beat up without throwing and punch of note.

4. Did he make us proud? A. Hell Yes!!

Wright answer........Proud for what, getting his arse handed to him and not trying to make a fight of it?

5. Would I big him up here again? A. Hell Yeah!!

Wright answer......Hopefully you wont have to

You'd probably have more of an argument if you could spell RIGHT properly pal.....
