Surprised there haven't been more comments on this as it was a terrific tear-up - possibly the best British-level fight I've watched since Macklin-Moore.
I must be honest and say that I'd nearly put a few quid on an early Francis stoppage and when they faced up to each other in the ring I wished I had as he looked a full weight division smaller. However, Oakey found his rhythm in round 2 and shook Francis up with a couple of great looping right hands, and from there through to the halfway stage he was bossing the fight and Francis looked exhausted. At that point I'd have put every penny I had on a late stoppage for Oakey, particularly when Francis suffered a bad cut over the left eye.
However, Dean showed incredible guts to dig deep and finally got his left jab working, mixed his shots up and then finished matters with a superb left hook. Oakey showed amazing courage to soak up shot after shot, but just seemed to lose his composure from the 7th onwards, missing with a lot of shots and choosing to try and walk through whatever Francis was throwing rather than tightening up his defence.
On this showing Dean hasn't got enough in the tank to go any further at this stage of his career but it was a fantastic effort by both fighters - type of showing that renews your faith in the game. As Dean himself said in the interview afterwards, he's a "spartan". First time I've ever had to see him dig that deep rather than relying on his class (I didn't see the Mark Baker fight early on in his career), and he won my full respect, as did Oakey.
As long as the KO didn't take too much out of Oakey it could make for a good rematch.

I think Dean should fight Magee next.
Despite the crisis in rds 2, 3 and 4, and sort of knew he was going to win because he'd managed to remain calm and eventually implement his game plan, bit by bit.
I love the guy's defensive work. Dean can slip, block, parry, pivot to the side, clinch, push the opponent off, using the opponent's weight, tip them off balance...that, before the thudding jab, the decent right and those brilliant left hooks to head and body.
This, I feel, is why he won. Although the pace was a lot for him at this age, he was taking few damaging shots flush.
Thought Sky gave Oakey credit for some rds just because Dean didn't like the pace (for instance, I think I had Francis winning the 3rd).
Francis would have been a kind of super middleweight equivalent to David Haye if he'd seen his prime through.

Someone at ringside made a good observation that when Fracis got hit he went back whereas Oakey came forward, so it was quite hard to score the fight. Most of the media differed with Sky on their scoring, though.
