when a majority agrees. Just because I'm sure doesn't make it o.k.
It' s not my forum it's John's
and everyone helping I guess ?

If it's O.K. WITH EVERYONE AND NOBODY HAS A REASON TO DOUBT MILWAUKEE STAN, I'LL START DURING THE WEEK.
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF SEAN CURTIN, ILLINOIS BOXING CZAR/ENCYCLOPEDIA HAS INFO ON 1968-69 fights tha Milwaukee Stanley say's he had!

I DO KNOW SEAN'S THE MAN WITH BOXING INFO AND HE SAYS THE ANIMAL HAD 4 or 5 losses thats the key for me. The starting point is the 5th losses for 'The Animal ' or one of the first for Milwaukee Stanley.
We didn,t have time to talk to much to Mil-Stan and didn't care to all that much.

Like I said before not a bad guy of sorts but I wouldn,t have him over for lunch.

so is it O.K. ?

Yours in boxing,
S-Pod'

P.S..Still looking for a way to do spell check when in this forum /

Your integrity as an authority is admired. That's why you are getting pounced on. It's human nature to look for faults in others. When and if you eat that crow, make sure that is has been documented and verified.

I WILL START THE RECORD SEPARATION AS SOON AS I GET SOME TIME DURING THE WEEK.

NO NEED TO BE SORE, AS A MATTER OF FACT MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE MADE A BET AND THE LOSER SHOULD HAVE PUT THE RECORD IN.

NO MATTER, I WILL START WITH THE ONE FIGHT THAT I SAID ME AND MY BROTHER WERE 100% SURE OF THE CARD I WAS AT WHERE STANLEY of MILWAUKEE WAS STOPPED BY KIMUEL ODEM IN HIGHLAND INDIANA.

IF SOMEONE WANTS TO ASSIST AFTER THAT FEEL FREE IF NOT I BE GLAD TO WHEN I CAN.

I WOULD ALL ASSUME WE ARE DOING THIS BECAUSE IT FUN AND WE ENJOY IT.

BOXING IS THE BEST,
ALL SPORTS ARE O.K. BUT OTHER THAN BOXING BASEBALL IS THE OTHER TOP SPORT.

******* GO ST. LOUIS CARDINALS ******** ******************

MARK McGWIRE YOU WERE THE BEST

RICK ANKIEL Please get it together.

Yankees, your O.K. But as said in the Rocky movie 'You will loose!'

BACK TO BOXING

AS I WAS SAYING AND ALL GOOD COACHES KNOW
THERE IS NO I IN TEAM!

yours in boxing,
stanpod,

I'd start with the Melvin Hosey fight. See Barry's posts where he shows that there was a Stan Johnson fighting out of Milwaukee before the 1987 bout you're referring to.

FLASH , extra , extra, !!!
STANLEY JOHNSON aka JACK JACKSON AND STAN WHITE
ONE OF THOSE FIGHTS WAS IN THE CHICAGO AREA AND IT WAS STANLEY JOHNSON WHO WAS USEING THEM AS A RING NAME, PER SECTION ON THE APPLICATION!
eg. After looking at the records I and both of my brothers were at the fight when Stanley Johnson fought Quick Tillis who we know very well, and it was Stanley Johnson useing the ring name Jackson!
And also remember him useing the last name White before. Gee could it have been because he didn't want people to say, Hey thats the name of the guy I saw getting KO'ED in another state 2 weeks ago?
OF COURSE IT WAS.

lOOK AT JACKSON AND WHITE THE M.O. HAS STAN JOHNSON ALL OVER IT.

NOT THAT I DON'T REALIZE GUYS LIKE STANLEY JOHNSON CAN BE VERY USEFUL TO MATCHMAKERS IN A PINCH'
lIKE STANLEY J said Friday evening with a smile "Hey why not" ?

O.K. I'M HOOKED, I TOOK CARE OF THE ANIMALS RECORD AND HE IS AT 24-5 WHERE HE SHOULD BE UNLSESS SOMEONE KNOW DIFFERENT.
AS FAR AS STANLEY J. FROM MILWAUKEE.
HE'S AT 3-40 BUT STILL NEED TO ICLUDED THE JACK JOHNSON BOUTS. ALSO I WOULD GUESS SOME OF THE BOUTS ON THE RECORD OF HEAVYWEIGHT BRUCE JOHNSON THAT WERE IN THE CHICAGO AREA MIGHT BE STANLEY. BUT NEED NOT TO WORRY THE GENERAL RECORD IS AT LEAST MUCH MORE CLEAR.
AND STAN THE ANIMAL/JACK MITCHELL IS GETTING HIS PROPERS!

In the old days I'm sure that there were plenty of Stanley Johnson types around.

A valuable commodity to matchmakers as I said.

Stanleys' can't live with em' can't live without em'

Stan,

There was a Jack Jackson out of Atlanta, GA that probably is the guy that has the Florida bouts. I'm going to give the Warring fight back to that Jack Jackson, since I doubt that Johnson drops down to Georgia for that fight.

Also, can you try and include the aliases in the comment section and specify what is transpiring i.e. "Johnson used alias Jack Jackson". This is so somebody doesn't come back and say, "My record says so and so fought Jack Jackson not Stan Johnson."

I am very familiar with stan johnson...with his stable of fighters from milwaukee- don penelton, james wilder, the late walter cowan, vernice christensen, nelson hernandez, lonzie pemberton, eric ccrumble, terry ford...he had his 48 yr old ex-con & ex-prostitute sister fight laila ali, and has provided 4 of 5 of the opponents in freeda george foreman's comeback wins....he actually has trained some decent amateurs at the martin luther king center in milwaukee (usually al moreland's turf), and trained gerald mcclellan for awhile as an amateur...mcclelan bolted emmanuel stewart over money, and stan johnson and mcclellan's cousin donnie penelton were in mcclellan's corner the night he went into a coma against nigel benn....stan johnson is also the boxing trainer for former kick-boxing champ rick roufus, who also uses his brother duke roufus, another kick boxing champ, to train him in both kick boxing and regular boxing...you will note than stan johnson has suffered a ko defear to his trainee while the trainee was under his tutledge....terry ford, who also ko'd johnson, was also in the johnson stable while this ko occurred (of course, one cannot prove any impopriety, as johnson does not have fighters under contract- he just "gets them fights"- and alot of them...) It was stan johnson, the convicted felon, that promoted the blind in one eye aaron pryor's second to last fight in wisconsin against another midwestern loser often seeing working corners with the strickland brother's, the notrious darryl pee man jones...Stan Johnson could not get a liscence to promote, so he used his then girlfreind Diana Lewis as the offical promoter (Lewis should not be confuced with the female fighter of the same name)

I say all this because I am familiar with and respect the fighting podgorski brothers- Peter is a well-respected ref in chicago and a very tough former pro welter, and stanley podgorski was a tough fighter ("stanpod"), but I was at spinks-johnson in countryside, illinois, and that fighter was NOT stan Johnson, who every Illinois Promoter, matchamker, amateur boxer, ref, fighter, judge, and cornerman knows who he is....johnson was a countryside regular, and this fighter was the fighter from down south who had previously fought mighty mike evans from chicago in michigan (who himself just came back and dispatched stan johnson)

The object I would think is to get as much correct as possible. The old days a lot happened. Science has changed much of that which I would think is for the better.
If you have a name to straighted up any record give it up. Who is the secret heavyweight or cruiserweight or whatever weight.

This entire story has been interesting but my guess is that the interesting person or fighter is Ernie Shavers. It is his name that everyone is clicking on. He is the hot issue. I think it is beacause of what a big puncher he was that has brought all these people in to read this section. Talk about a guy who should have been champ! Most of these marginal champions today could not stay in the ring for one round with Ernie.

Now Neon Leon he's really something how about him today, There is a story, not a story with a good ending unfortunatly.

But thats boxing, its not perfect but its the best!

Shavers was almost one of a kind and this has been a hot topic. But the record of Johnson from Milwaukee will never be complete. I am sure even he doesn't know of all of his bouts. All we can do is our best one of the main objectives should be that a solid heavyweight like Mr. Shavers in not on record as being beat by the likes of Milwaukee Stanley. I don't know the chap but anyone who goes down in round 1 time after time has to be a character. But I do give him and/or anyone whe gets into the square circle some credit!

So,
"Lets get ready to crumble."
