What were the odds mate?

I didn't look about for the best odds, I took 16/1 with Betfair, just a couple of £'s to add abit more interest to the fight

The Gomez of 5 years ago, maybe... but the difference in size and speed will now be too much. He's got a slight chance in the first three rounds, after which he'll get picked apart until the ref steps in. Would love to see Mike chin him though.

It's about 65-1 for a Gomez KO in the 1st three rounds on Betfair. That's all I looked at as can't see it lasting any longer than that.

I put tenner on Khan KO in rounds 1 / 2 at 4-1. and a couple of quid on 1/2/3 Gomez KO just in case the miracle happens and Amir trips onto one of his hooks :o)

I actually see Gomez comming to win and putting on a good show. I dont however see him winning but I dont think it will be like the Earl fight. Round 4 or 5 IMO.

Amazingly there seems very litlle interest on here. Thats the problem when everyone has decided its just a formality for Khan to win. Gomez isnt the fighter he was but the night he fought AA not very many gave him too much of a chance. I thought he fought pretty well against Johanssen as well. I cant see Khan having things all his own way.

I actually thought it might have got a bit more interest, but it an unispiring main event, from an uninspiring bill. The three title fights are really 70:30 fights (and thats probably being generious to the challenger).

Little surprise ITV have decided to only showcase it for about 1:15 mins.

I involuntarily jumped out of my seat when Limond floored Khan. Not because I hate Khan, but due to the drama of seeing an upset apple cart. I had the same reaction when Rahman sparked Lewis.

Good job I wasn't drinking any cocoa at the time. I think my shadow uppercut would've plastered the ceiling!

Haha! I can't really remember what I did, but I was definitely amazed. Probably shouting obscenities 'cause I didn't know what else to do.

i was one fo the ones who defended Khan on here, however, following his split (and more importantly the reported nature ofit) with Oliver Harrison Ive no time for him. "Couldnt get in
touch with Oliver" - what? Try his f**** gym, the one he trains you in 5 days a week!
Anyhow, I hope Gomez smashes the applecart, if he doesnt im sure there are plenty of lightweights who can!

Anyone v Khan has a chance because no one knows if he can take a shot, and Gomez is a puncher, if past his best.

Gomez WAS a domestic level puncher in his day. Now he punches like he's underwater.

Seriously if he couldn't stop Johanesson at 130 (after landing everything but the kitchen sink) who's hardly the most durable guy in thw world then he's certainly not going to stop a big 135lb guy like Khan.

Sure Khan is odds on to blast out a shadow of the old Gomez, but it's east to forget this: Khan's punch resistance looks VERY dodgy.

Hard to forget boxing's lightest puncher having Khan all over the shop - so I give anyone with a half decent punch ( and ambition hopefully ) a chance. Early rounds will be fun.

Gomez has a punchers chance in the first 2-3 rounds, but that is his only chance.

Khan is going to look huge compared to Gomez on the night - Even a prime Gomez would be up against it here, mainly due to the weight/size difference.

I Hope Gomez puts up a good effort and doesn't get bombed out in the 1st, but I have a feeling he is going to wilt very quickly - The only interesting thing for me is to see if Khan cops a few punches from a slow Gomez.

It is a cynical bit of matchmaking in my opinion.

In all Khan's fights, the only time I've seen him rocked was against Limond, and that was from a temple shot. I think you're going overboard saying his punch resistance looks "VERY dodgy". His recuperative powers don't seem great, but I think the jury's out on his chin. How many times was he down as an amateur? I heard it was only once or twice.

Once as an am I think, late on, which is when doubts began to emerge.
I didn't put much into the rumors back then, but his reaction against Limmond changed all that - sure that was the only time, but bear in mind, 99% of his opponents have been of the featherfisted variety - like 1% ko's.
NO WAY does a solid chinned fighter get wacked by lightpunching Willie Limmond like that.

Sometimes a fighter can look 100% solid in the unpaid ranks, then it all changes in the pros - just think of some of the Amateur hotshots, Olympic and otherwise, past and present, who suddenly nose dived as pros.

Looking at the record I think it was Komjathi, did he land a heavy shot in the 3rd or 4th?

The match was poor mate, but to be fair we played well in the first one.......the old legs can't carry me for two or three hours of footie anymore, too much cigarettes and alcohol.

At least you livened things up :TU:

I think Gomez has a slight chance in the first couple of rounds. If Limond can hurt Khan then Gomez could theoretically kill Khan, but it's unlikely. Another thing, can anyone believe Gomez is 65-1 to beat Khan in the first three rounds? I highly suggest people at least put a fiver on this because it's Gomez's best, and possibly, only chance of winning.

For me though, Khan TKO4.
