I believe Robinson was only knocked down once in his career, by Jake La Motta. He had a tremendous chin.

Jake La Motta was the only one.... besides Joey Archer, Rocky Graciano, Mitsos Grispos, Artie Levine, Robert Villemain, Rocky Castellani, Wilf Greaves, and Joey Giardello

Sorry to go off thread a little but I watched a re-run of the Robinson Turpin II fight on C5 a while back, man that was brutal I dunno how Turpin could take that much punishment, jeez they used to let them take too much in those days.
Bout 2 mins too much in that case.

i saw the dykes fight on tv and don't recall his knocking robinson down...and i doubt if i'd forget that. he toyed with dykes in the last couple of rounds.

the graziano knockdown wasn't a slip. it didn't seem to hurt robinson, though it woke him yup enough to have him turn it on and kayo rocky soon after.

Bobby Dykes staggered Ray Robinson in the first round of their bout which was probably the reason one judge called it a draw. There was, however, no knockdown.

From his showing against Robinson, Dykes was signed to fight Johnny Bratton who was just coming off a three round KO of Lester Felton.

Bratton scored a quick first round knockout of Dykes.
