Khans chinny

So what? Hearns, Patterson, Jackson, Lennox, Benn etc. were considered chinny but it never stopped them achieving massive success did it?

We dont know if Khan is chinny, but we do know his defense isnt as good as it should be by observation. He blames Harrison for that but I am not one of the few who know the truth so I really dont know.

This fight is a disgracefull mismatch, Khan talks about Cambell, Casamayor, Pac, and then who does he fight? a washed up semi retired guy who is not even good enough to be british champ at the weight below.
Oh by slagging off his old trainer he just sounds like a spitefull ungratefull little shit.........

Khan is a right arsehole to be frank... he dumps Harrison and then has the nerve to call Harrison 'disloyal' the guy isd obviously not the brightest of sparks... boasting also about how easy Gomez will be... hey Amir, he should be easy for you as he's years past his best and is a much smaller man too!!... that said I do think that if Gomez can land a couple on Amirs china chin then things could get interesting... frankly I would love to see Micheal win this... or at least make the classless one look bad... come on Gomez!!!..... :box: :D

Theres different degrees of 'chinny' though, the likes of Lewis, Hearns and Patterson were hurt by world class fighters with big punches while Amir has been hurt by light punching journeymen... theres a world of difference between Patterson being koed by Sonny Liston, one of the most destructive punchers ever, and Amir being floored and out on his feet against the light punching (even at domestic level!!!) Willie Limond... Khan does not have a world class chin... no way near... why was he pulled out of the ABA's after being floored in a fight???.....
when Amir eventually fights someone close to his own size and age who has a half decent punch, he will be creamed...
having said that knowing the people behind him its probably a good few years before Khan will fight anyone in that league...

ODLH was severely weight drained to get to S-feather when he suffered the knockdowns.
And in all fairness Khan is also most likely a little weight drained to get to lightweight .. but the thing is Oscar got put down by genuine world class guys at the weight .. where as Khan has been put down by domestic guys a weight below.

Benn,Hearns, patterson etc. were put down by top guys their own weight or naturally bigger .. I honestly can`t think of one genuine world champion who has been genuinly chinny.
What I think as chinny - is being able to be put down or stopped by a moderate puncher far from world class.

On the domestic scene we have seen quite a few, remember Paul Ryan? he caused havoc domestically, some fighters manage to seem a little special compared to other domestic guys but the move up in class usually gets exposed sooner rather than later if they don`t have a reliable chin.

Khan has had every advantage in this game, smaller, light punching guys with good looking records .. Audley Harrison would have also been as highly regarded as Khan if he too had 1st signed with Frank .. but Audleys chin got exposed by a guy I`d class as a gate keeper to todays world class and I`m 100% sure Khans will also.

For the record Harrison easilly beats Rogan .. and looks v-good doing it .. this highlights for me how Frank would have benefitted Audley if he had signed with Frank in the beginning...the right opponents to gloss over imperfections and seriously faults

Khan,s yet to be put in with anyone with a punch or anyone who wasn,t damaged goods, which shows
how much confidence his handlers have in him,
I,d heard Harrison was telling people close to him Khan was chinny two fights after he`d turned pro.

Well the Limond fight proved it beyond doubt... thats why even a mismatch like this against Gomez could still get interesting if Micheal can land a decent shot... trouble is he seems to be at the stage where even his puch has decreased... plus he is much the smaller man... all in all this is a disgraceful mismatch... how will beating Gomez give Khan the right to fight for a world title???...

Just watched Limond fight again and Khan was dropped in the same way
with his back against the ropes with his hands to low, I wonder if that was the
advice Harrison gave Gomez?
