Its probably the only fight Green would comeback for. It would have to be at a catchweight if Mundine is going to Middle, I doubt Green could make that weight.

I was surprised to see the article, but the way channel 10 broadcast it, it was a done deal. We have spoken about this at length before, but besides the article on channel 10 I havent seen a thing. Green was in the Sunday Times paper today talking about taking over promotion of Willy Kickett and not a mention about a Mundine rematch....

Not a done deal yet http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/s ... 23,00.html

I really hope it doesn't happen. Green has nothing to prove and made a good decision to go out on top. He has done Australian boxing a great service and its time to enjoy his retirement...

Was very nterested to see this as all butt a few days prior seen reports of Greeny saying not gonna happen.
Think Green has appeared to be very content with retirement as i have said before. He seemed to accept the loss first time round with humility and a so be it attitude(and hats off to him for that).BUT he is a fighter and I guess there must be some little voice niggling in his head.
wait and see i guess.I personally do hope he does but no way at any weight that is not above supermiddle and SURELY he would have a warm up fight(?)
reckon result be the same just not as convincing.

Newsreaders are hyped up about it. Green's manager likes it.

Danny has not signed a contract for the fight.

If Green does fight he would fight at light heavyweight. Wasn't Motor Mouth dropping down to middleweight?

hOPE it doesnt happen, but always thought it would - to much money not to, and I put that in a post that I thought we would see the rematch in 09.

Green has called for a press conference tomorrow...interesting that it is on the day Fenech v Nelson is being staged, we all know the history between Green, Choc and Fenech . I can't see why he would have to call a conference if he was going to deny the rumours. Apparently around midday Perth time.

Rapper Jay Z held a few press conferences to annouce a couple of his retirements, so stranger press conferences have been called.... Image

If Green comes back to fight Mundine he is making an ass of himself. He retires and says money isnt an issue, Then comes back for money.

One would have to think that GREEN wouldnt give a press conf if he wasnt going to announce a "comeback" of sorts. I always believed he would as he had too much unfinished business...and plenty of people chirping in his ear about the $$ to be earned if he just had 3 more fights...and the loudest voice was from his wife!!

From a selfish standpoint Im stoked and I hope he comes back for at least 3 more fights. Just a bit suspicious of the circumstances of why he "retired" in the first place...was it a strategic plan to avoid a mand defence?? Will the WBA reinstate him as the champ? and sanction the Mundine v Green II as a world title fight at LH??

I guess we should wait and see what is announced at the press conf first...

If he wants a fight with Green he would have to. Green physically can't get any lower...

I still hope he doesn't do it.

i had a great deal of respect for green when he retired but if he comes out of retirement i will be disappointed.
he only just retired a few weeks ago so he will look like a GOOSE if he comes back again.

can u imagine the egg on his face if he comes back and loses.

maybe seeing jeff fenech fight he may think he has still got a good 15 years left in him to fight. lol.

He just wants the money..oh sorry..Nina wants the money.

If Green is to beat him this time he has to go all out and knock him out, pressure him, scare him from start of round one! 8)

Looks like mundine will quit mid next year after he loses to green then Geale in mw!
