Abraham Miranda 2 - disgraceful act (spoiler)

Disgraceful Act Mars Exciting Abraham-Miranda Bout

[Press Release] What had been an exciting night of boxing at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood Saturday night, featuring the super middleweight rematch between Arthur Abraham and Edison Miranda, as well as the middleweight title eliminator between Raul Marquez and Giovanni Lorenzo, was marred in the end by the cowardly actions of Alexander Abraham, Arthur’s brother.

According to a number of witnesses, Abraham – a professional boxer himself – kicked Miranda as he was being attended to by ringside physicians following his fourth round stoppage defeat. Abraham also kicked the ringside doctor in his effort to get at Miranda. Abraham, who had been abusive towards patrons, as well as casino and security personnel before, during, and after the bout, was later arrested. Abraham was freed on bond and left the country, but there are charges pending against him from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for “resisting officers / obstruction.”

And while Sauerland Event, the promoter for the Abraham brothers, denied any wrongdoing on Alexander Abraham’s part, respected reporters Tim Smith and Dan Rafael both reported on Abraham’s thuggish act, and world lightweight champion Nate Campbell, who was at ringside, saw the entire sequence, telling website BS.com, “It was low-class of him to run in the ring like that and say anything to Miranda while he was down…Me, my wife, Terry Trekas, we were all sitting ringside. I saw Alex kick at him. I don’t know where the kick landed, but he did kick at him…What Alex did to Miranda, he should go to jail for that.”

Miranda, who is doing well after his disappointing defeat, will not press charges against Abraham, though Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing, isn’t so forgiving.

"It is a shame that Arthur’s brilliant performance and first fight in the United States was marred by the disgraceful and cowardice acts of his brother Alexander. Arthur is a great person and champion who needs to be careful and not let people around him who will hurt his reputation." said Leon Margules.

Team Sauerland statement: Alexander Abraham

For Immediate Release

Contrary to other reports, Alexander Abraham did not violently attack
Edison Miranda or any member of his team following the knockout victory
of King Arthur Abraham this weekend. The brother of the IBF middleweight
champion was detained in a casino nearby to the arena after the fight
due to the disturbance of an event. Early on Sunday morning (local
time), he was set free for an administration fee of 100 U.S Dollars
without any further sanctions. The accusations levelled at him – that he
had attacked Edison Miranda or a member of his team – have proven to be
absolutely unfounded. “I did not violently attack Miranda or any of his
team,” said Alexander Abraham. “It was completely the other way around
our team was attacked by Miranda’s people with chairs.”

The reports which had been spreading around US internet websites that
Arthur Abraham has been ordered to pay a fine of 100,000 US Dollars are
false. The champion and his team will return to Germany on Monday
morning without leaving any unresolved legal wrangles behind.

Boxer Nate Cambell, plus respected reporters have given voice on what they seen Abrahams brother do post fight, so i believe the stories to be true. However, he apparently kicked Marinda as he was being treated on the canvass, is it not strange that there is no footage of that? The camera's must have been running, sure'ly?

I just watched the ending to see if I could spot anything. They were replaying the knockdowns when it would have happened. Miranda didn't mention anything about it in the interview. Only the presenter was between Arthur Abraham and Miranda and there was no trouble.

I loved it when the presenter asked Abraham to describe what was happening as they showed the knockdowns again. Arthur said "boom" for both of the last two.

Abraham's brother should be banned for life. Being a boxer & committing such a cowardly act, shows that he has he does not have the discipline other fighters have. Fcuking disgrace in my opinion.

I'm quite angry about it. I mean, would he have even try to committ such an act if Miranda was on his feet, had all his wits about him, etc? I very much doubt it!

If Arthur has any class, he won't have his brother at his future fights.

Personally, I can't help feeling massively sorry for Miranda. Yes, in the build up to his fights he does come out with utter bile but at least he's been willing to risk the consequences of defeat and humiliation against top-class opposition.

I will add this though, from a tactical standpoint, his trash-talk has now proven erroneous because all it seems to do is bring out the best in his opponents and if Miranda contines to apply this formula without developing his defensive skills, one can't help thinking that he will soon (if it hasn't happened already) be on the receiving end of a career-ending beating.

He has had a compelling life and all the rest of it but you want your trash talkers to be of the James toney or Mayweather ilk. This guy has done nothing to back it up.

Point taken though, he has taken on some good fighters but is patently not good enough.
I assume you mean blatently not good enough but I dunno Terry, his only losses are to two very good and dominant middleweight champs - I wanna see how he bounces back - maybe at lightheavyweight. I agree he lacks the skill to be an elite fighter but he could make a career out of being a fringe world class operator and who knows he could strike lucky and pick up a belt somewhere along the line - I mean there are enough out there!. With his power and vunerability he'll always be good value - so I hope he continues for a while.

Mosleys chin is solid, and he should be able to box Mayorgas ears off... hell I'll stick my neck out and predit a stoppage win.
Mayorga must've made a ruddy fortune over the years, and he hasnt even won a meaningful fight since 2003!

The Tv didn't catch a kick, but you can see someone from Abrahams corner go straight to Miranda and not go and celebrate with Arthur, also just at the end of the clip you can see a quick movement by that person standing over Miranda, can't see his face so not 100% sure its Alex.

Mayorga's 'manager' is Carl King and his promotor is Big Don, he's probably not got a pot to piss in.

That's probably Alex based upon build and hairstyle. If you've never seen him before, he's almost the spit of his Brother. I can't find a decent pick of him. Fight news had a good one a few weeks back.

Didn't he attack Edison in the first fight as well?

I guess this is him...sounds like he did aim a kick at the fallen Miranda, a real low life move if true.

Yep, that's Alex and that's also the person that goes towards Edison at the end. Glad Arthur's belt has been stolen. Serves them right.
