Any Michael Jennings news?
So whats happening with Jennings, after a good win over Minter on a ITV show nothing has really happened.
He impressed in that win, but since then just has a mark time win over George Ungiadze. Although he did again do a professional job in that one.
He's ranked 2nd by the WBO, but i can't see him being put in with Paul Williams any time soon.
Personally i'd like to see him take on Jackson Osei Bonsu for the Euro title, Jackson is a dangerous boxer with a punch, but it would be a good test to see what level Jennings is at, if he can deal with Jackson then maybe a world title shot isn't out of his reach.

Vastly under-rated professional, does everything well Jennings.
Re: Any Michael Jennings news?
I rate Jennings highly. A top lad and a very capable fighter.

Thats the thing, i rate him as well. He is great to watch, probably the best in the country for movement and getting in and out of range, good variety of punches as well.
But at 31 he can't keep waiting around for something to happen, he needs that move in the next 6 months at least.

Re: Any Michael Jennings news?
He was discussing stepping into world class and getting the #1 WBO ranking - but hasn't been active enough... not his fault. This is the problem with the current Warren deal - he seems to be focusing on big and not often (in terms of bills) and not little and often. Hopefully when the Setanta thing comes into full swing - this will change and it will be more like the old Saturday Fght night on Sky.

After losing to Mutley it's a shame he never got back in the British mix
Re: Any Michael Jennings news?
He's had such a wasted career it's untrue. He's in his thirties and still hasn't had a meaningful fight outside domestic level, not to mention that he picked up a vacant British belt. He needs a decent European fight and there's a lot of choice out there. Bonsu's the obvious choice but there's also people like Petrucci, Senchenko (watched him kill Elwell which was impressive), Klose, or if it's possible to get this fight, Nuznenko. He could also fight for a interim WBO title with someone like Zeveck or Collazo. It's scandalous that Sports Network haven't concentrated more on this lad, because he's so talented.
Re: Any Michael Jennings news?
He had that really weird win over Bradley Pryce. Battered in the 1st and 12th, but won the all the other rounds in between.
Good fighter. Didn't a controversial loss to Mutrtley set him back or something?
Wouldn't mind seeing Frank get all his British welters together. But obviously that would leave Jennings waiting as it's supposed to be Brook vs McIntyre next isn't it?

Bonsu's the ideal opponent - if he wins then surely a word title shot will be on the horizon.

He was in a great position (wbo no1 if I remember right) but that loss against Mutley set him right back, and only now is he getting back to where he was.
