Undercard results of the VERSUS card at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas: In the opening bout, jr. lightweight Manny Perez (12-4-2, 2 KOs), of Denver, counterpunched his way to a unanimous decision win over Filipino Aaron Melgarejo (10-6-1, 3 KOs), with scores were 77-75 x 3. Four bouts were staged after airtime: Jr. lightweight Miguel Angel Garcia (12-0, 10 KOs, of Ventura, Calif., TKO’d South Korean Jae-Sung Lee (9-2, 6 KOs) at 1:15 of round four; jr. lightweight Puerto Rico’s Hector Marengo (4-0-1, 3 KOs) took out Napoleon Matthews (1-2, 1 KO), of Seattle, at 1:59 of round one; bantamweight Khabir Suleymanov (5-0, 2 KOs), of New York City, remained undefeated with a split decision over Las Vegan Alex Mercado (5-1, 4 KOs), scores being 58-56, 56-58 and 59-55; and, Las Vegas jr. lightweight Diego Magdaleno (4-0, 2 KOs) punched out a shutout four-round decision over Angel Rodriguez (2-2, 2 KOs), of Houston.
