Sorry Stuart but I think yours is. Taylor is real world class, only Pavlik has beaten him. Why do Taylor and his camp want Froch, because they know Taylor can beat him apart from Froch being the mandatory,of course. If Froch was to come through though,a battle with Kessler would be mouth watering.
Taylor, stepping up in weight, but with far more natural talnt will school Froch, i'd expect it to end with Froch on his back somewhere around the 5th round!
I hope this fight happens so all you Froch nutthuggers can finally be shut up

Taylor and his team might think they can beat Froch, but it will be very different when they try to put it into practice. Taylor gets KTFO
Carl Froch has now got his hard-earned shot at the vacant WBC super-middleweight title against Jermain Taylor later this year but hopes his co-challenger doesn't bottle out of it.
Undefeated British champion Froch has been elected to fight American Taylor, the former undisputed middleweight champion, for the prestigious vacant WBC title after Joe Calzaghe vacated the belt rather than fight mandatory challenger Froch.
The WBC have ordered a private negotiating period between Froch’s promoter Mick Hennessy and Taylor’s promoter Lou DiBella. If there is no agreement then a purse bid will be held on Friday July 25, 2008, at the WBC Executive Offices in Mexico City.
‘Cobra’ Froch has challenged Taylor not to duck out of facing him in one of 2008's biggest global fights and also launched a stinging attack on Taylor’s promoter Lou DiBella after his recent comments on The Fight Network.
“I’m delighted to get the title fight and just hope Taylor shows a real fighting heart and goes through with this fight,” said Froch, who has stopped 19 opponents in 23 fights.
“I’ve heard he was talking about fighting Jeff Lacy next but that fight is a mismatch in my opinion.
“I would knock Lacy out in a round or two and it is an easy fight for Taylor, so I just hope Jermain doesn’t squirm out of this situation with me and I think the broadcasters shouldn’t allow him to either.
“I heard Lou DiBella has said ‘who the fornicate is Carl Froch to American television', but he will know who the fornicate the ‘Cobra’ is when his fighter is laying horizontal in front of him. Then I will ask him what does he know about boxing?
“In my opinion doing Taylor versus Lacy is just as bad as doing Kelly Pavlik versus Gary Lockett. It’s a mismatch and anyone who buys into that has got to be nuts in my opinion.
“Lacy seems scared of his own shadow at the moment and Taylor will also be a chicken if he swerves me.
“DiBella says American TV isn’t interested in me but believe me they are. Once I knock out Taylor, I will do the same to Kelly Pavlik.”
Froch’s promoter Mick Hennessy has been in talks with DiBella and is confident the ‘Cobra’ will be the new undisputed No 1 of the super-middleweight division.
“Carl would have taken out Calzaghe in style but now he will do it to Jermain Taylor instead. He is the new star of world boxing,” said Hennessy.
“I’ve been speaking with Lou DiBella for a while now and I just hope they don’t start opting for easier fights for Jermain. This could be a massive fight.”

What will Taylor get....... the WBC super middleweight belt, thats what! Froch is unheard of in the states, he has no market value over there, so in reality Taylor v Froch is definate'ly a wierd match-up, but if the belts on the line Taylor should take it.
"I heard Lou DiBella has said ‘who the f*** is Carl Froch to American television', but he will know who the f*** the ‘Cobra' is when his fighter is laying horizontal in front of him."
Shows how much rankings mean etc, Taylor has lost his previou 2(against the middle weight champ) and has never fought at the weight before, yet gets a shot at the vacant title.
This goes to show exactly how boxing works, if your promoter has the swing, you will get the shot.
Trying to work yourself into a mandatory position then hoping the champ will oblige the committment will get you nowhere fast
I'd like to see this match up. I think Taylor is rated too highly. Froch is unproven, but fair play to him, he wants the title and is preparedto fght anyone for it. Great amateur, unbeaten as a pro.
Taylor is moving up to Super-Mddle, and I think Froch is a very strong Super-Middle. It'll be a close fight. Froch by KO late on. 'Hunger for the title when he knows it's his chance' wins the day.
I think this could be telling for Taylor, who is used to being the bigger, rangier guy.
Taylor has better all around skills, but for me Froch is the more natural fighter, and the tougher nut.
Of course, Taylor has fought at a much higher level, but I suspect we haven't seen anything like the best of Froch yet, and I used to be one of his harshest critics,
I think the losses to Pavlik have taken something out of Taylor.
IMO I think Taylor will be dangerous for the first four rounds after which I think Froch would make his extra strength and power count. I dont really think size will be an issue - Froch does super-middleweight with ease and walks around at 12st.
By all accounts the fight is dependant on whether Taylor fancies it or not (he is still to make a decision). Froch wants the fight badly and I think that mentally signifies how the fight is likely to go - should it happen - e.g. Froch winning the fight with his greater desire and breaking Taylor's heart.
Hennessy Sports have huge faith in Froch - whether it is unfounded remains to be seen, though Froch has stepped-up on pretty much each occasion.

When it went to the cards i didn't think the 2nd fight was a forgone conclusion but i suspected Kelly would have got it for being so much more active.
I think that fact that Taylor is fighting relatively soon after his loss (for a HBO headliner) probably means he's up for it. I thought a year could easily pass before he reappeared.
At the time I thought the fact that he opted for an immediate rematch against Pavlik for no belts meant he was just after a last payday before fading away. He'd made his money and from the sounds of things suffers from the 'silk sheets' syndrome.
Obviously the best we've seen from Froch so far will not beat the Taylor that rematched Pavlik. So unless Froch can do things he's never shown i can't see how he wins. Froch has world class power and a world class chin (as amply demonstrated by his leaky defence) but that plus his added hunger won't be enough at the top level.
I'm going for a wide UD for Taylor but i hope for the upset as Froch as the right attitude and his style makes for entertaining fights.
The point has been made about Froch before - he isn't as slow as he looks. He just doesn't waste energy.
I don't know obout the outcome against Taylor but I certainly can't envisage a a stoppage win for the American. He couldn't overcome Pavlik's strength in their rematch despite boxing well, and I can't see him going anywhere but backwards against Froch, who could definitely hurt him IMO.
Would be nice to see Froch do it BUT low hands and average reactions aren't a good recipe against a fast 1-2 from a world level fighter, which Taylor still is.
