I don't think so. Classic FW match - big name past his best. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent enough match for now, but I don't think Chavez is what he was.

the reason i am picking chavez is that arthur hasnt really fought anyone thats world class , he really struggled with foster jnr , foster jnr is a british class fighter and knocked arthur down.

chavez recently won and lost the IBF lightweight title and would be arthurs biggest test to date , chavez has fought and beat the better men so that how i think he will win.

the reason i think arthur might win is that he has youth on his side

Chavez was a great and hugely underated fighter, he's only just come back from injury and imo looks a little shot . I think with draining down to Super-Feather aswell(I know Arthur would have to do this too) Arthur may get the better of Chavez .

Arthur will beat any of those guys. They're all either past their best or not that good in the first place.

If Jesus Chavez is past it it's down to the inactivity not the fights he's had. I'd say it would be premature to write him off. Up until the moment his ankle went against Diaz he was looking like an animal.

I'd pick him over Arthur even if he is 35.

Jesus Chavez and Urbano Antillon?

Chavez - old, bloated, coming off injuries. Thought Chavez was in the Golden Boy/Ring Mag lightweight title tourament. Don't think Chavez makes 130 ever again.

Antillon - rugged bloke, very promising, has a 1 rd KO of Bobby Pacquiao. Thought he was a lightweight. Respected in the trade. After his fighter got put in a 50-50 British fight, a trainer told me, "It's not like he's fighting an Urbano Antillon." Think AB'd do a Michael Gomez on Arthur. High risk opponent, if you ask me. Not a typical FW match.

Especially when he's down to fight Katsidis or Juan Diaz or someone in a Golden Boy lightweight title elim.

Looks like an opponent who will never take the fight. If Chavez came down in weight he would get beaten - as I see it - and GBP don't like sending fighters abroad (Andrade, vs Kessler; Ikeke, v Abraham; pulled Marquez out of Harrison fight).

I think Antillon looks too dangerous. Just too natural a fighter for Arthur. If it happens, I'll be excited though. Don't think Arthur's a great infighter - throws long shots up close and leaves his right side open to left hooks.

If Foster runs him close, I would think that Antillon runs him over. Though the title will be a motivator for AAA to get it right.

Both Antillon and Chavez are lightweights. Is Arthur giving up his 130 lb title? Would that be a first - giving up a title you didn't win without defending it?

Would have to be for the title, wouldn't it? Set up the big fight with Kevin Mitchell. More money/motivation/better crowd with a "world" crown on the line.

You'd think so. They may be calling out lightweights to fight for AA's 130 title, as they see Arthur himself as a lightweight who has to suffer to boil down and want the opponent similarly handicapped. I can't see Arthur making 130 for much longer (wasn't being weight-drained his excuse for his performance against Foster Jr?), so they shouldn't keep the Mitchell fight on the backburner for too long.

Definitely. I expected a complete knockover, or a FW featherweight (Nicky Cook) to keep it in house or something like that, to keep the Mitchell fight safe.

Sticky situation. They've left it so long that Arthur can barely do the weight. Mitchell looking a long way off world class vs Estrada.

Would love to see Arthur v Antillon.

Can't see AAA v Guly II. Guly coming off a good win and of the two it would be G who can improve on the last fight.

Easiest fight might be the IBF title that continually changes hands!

I hear it's Chris Byrd.

Seriously though, there's no way Chavez or Antillon can get down to 130. The fight must be at Lightweight, which doesn't really make sense :-?

If it is, it would be against type for FW to put him in with Antillon, as the kid looks like he will go somewhere and maybe win a title, plus he can bang. Chavez has looked a shadow of the fighter he was against Jiminez. Maybe he hasn't exorcised the ghost of Johnson or the knee injuries have ruined him.

Arthur got a lot of stick for picking up a vacant title and therefore not being a worthy champ which is a fair comment but if he takes on Antillon he's gets my respect. A prime Chavez - like the one who won the WBC title vs teak tough Singwancha would beat Arthur convincingly but these days its hard to tell. He will probably get the job as he is less dangerous at this time than Antillon but you never know if he is injury free and has been in the gym he could pull it off - we all know Arthur hates pressure fighters. But I suppose those are big IFs so all things considered Arthur would be a big favourite,

Oh, what a joke if that happens. I am fucked off with "the best promotor" in the land giving us shite mismatches. He's a blimping featherweight who got hammered off someone who was recently held to a draw.

A match up with Cook isn't too bad in my opinion, more so because Arthur isn't world class.

Cook will be looking to excercise some demons, and the extra weight will suit him.

SN know the deal with Arthur, any thought of matching him hard is just that.

Yeah, have to say Cook looks far more likely. FW did say there were going to be lots of domestic fighters getting together between feather and lightweight. Arthur's WBO title is a big enough prize for them all to fight for. I would say this era already started with the excellent Athur v Foster Jr fight (excellent but not world class, for the Interim WBO belt).

Antillon was making 131-132 pounds last year but he's been fluctuating between 134-138 of recent. Can he make 130, with a title on the line?

A match up with Cook isn't too bad - but in someways it is terrible.

I'd give Cook, a weight drained Feather, a decent chance - but where are these "big names" promised.

Fact is, aside from for Joe Calzaghe (about time) and Enzo Mac... Warren now has consitently failed to attract the big names.

I'd be shocked if it was Antillion. Not because he couldn't make 130 but because he's very very good and he's more risk than reward for Arthur and Warren knows this.

Chavez won't happen either.

Umm i could see the Cook fight happening but think Cook should of done something at 130 to deserve the fight.

I'd be happy with someone like Roman Martinez.

The WBO rankings for what there worth are littered with no chance fights like Juarez & Barrios and unknowns like McFields & Rahimov.

How about Vincente Escobedo if they could get him ranked with the WBO he's flattered to deceive but is still a name and a world title fight may finally bring out the best in him.

I think Escobedo is a no-no. He isn't much of a name (outside of us hard core fans) plus those that no him, no him as a fighter who has flattered to decieve (he isn't past it) - and the risk is huge.. I think he beats Arthur.
