Hey Cliff, what happened with the Johnny White fight? Losing an eight rounder at this point does not look good.

Johnnie White was 18-0-0 with 16KO's comming into that fight, Most people probably expected Cliff to be stopped within the distance. Cliff's just done 8 rounds with a undeafeted prospect a month out from fighting Haumono thats not bad preperation in my mind.

Better preparation than something Muhammed Ali spoke of in a "Friar's Roast" many years ago for Sammy Davis Junior. For those who never saw these, they were a way entertainers raised money for charity by having people attend a dinner performance where a group of well known people, mostly comedians, would invite a guest of honour and make comically insulting speeches about him. Ali was one "roaster" and said of Davis: "Sammy Davis came to my training camp before the first time I fought Joe Frazier and did impressions of Joe Frazier. The reason I lost the fight was that Sammy did such a great job of impersonating Joe that I went into the ring thinking that Joe was 5'2" tall, 120lbs and singing "What Kind of Fool am I?"

Yes it's not too bad a result (other than, er losing). First time he's gone beyond 5 rounds in 7 years! Might say something about the level of White's previous opposition though given his KO record. Anyone know what the scorecard was?

As you say the result wasnt to bad other than losing the Decision in the end, Couser did 8 Rounds and hes Scheduled for 6 against Haumono. It's a good thing to know he can at least do the rounds which shows he must be in shape.

Fight scored 80-72 80-72 79-73. Two judges did not give Cliff a round.

Boxrec reacted by dropping White 1 place to 100 and Couser 3 places to 180.

It's not a reaction is it? Don't Boxrec use a mathmatical system? You may not agree with it, but if it is consistent it takes away subjective and biased judgements. I'd like to know how the system works
