My Top Ten Boxers Of The Last Forty Years
Re: My Top Ten Boxers Of The Last Forty Years
That is sadly true.
Pride and courage is a very dangerous thing to one's health.

I often think that had Sancjez not died wins over Arguello, Nelson II, Pedroza and Chavez were all within his grasp. Of course you can say this for any of them but Sanchez achieved so much in such a short space of time.

Exactly, and while he's been consistent about not wanting to fight Quarry, if you think of his second career in particular, he was always afraid of certain fighters. He's been consistent in being afraid. Cowardly people often lie.Collins2000 wrote:George said he was drugged in Zaire. Then he said he was ashamed for making that sort of ridiculous excuse. Recently was peddling the drugged in Zaire story again. He has a habit of saying things that he thinks will get him noticed. And as a man who lives off his fame, why not?
Re: My Top Ten Boxers Of The Last Forty Years
I think George in his heart still believes he was drugged, he occasionally takes the story back just for P.R.'s sake.

If he was drugged how come he's not dead or more seriously hurt...It was 100 degrees and humid that night and he was fighting a great fighter ...How did they calibrate the drugs just enough to make him lose but not have him get seriously hurt...

You know, I wouldn't dismiss the possibility that he was drugged. Druggings do take place. Jesus Chavez was drugged when he was training for his fight with Julio Alvarez. A quarter of a roofie, GHB... even morhpine.TheOneIsHere2008 wrote:wouter wrote:I think George in his heart still believes he was drugged, he occasionally takes the story back just for P.R.'s sake.

So what have they prescribed now for your problems, Zac?
And I'm not talking about your fivehead...
Re: My Top Ten Boxers Of The Last Forty Years
I know of a fighter who was drugged by a promoter here in
Oz, it was just an MMA fight where both parties were getting
maybe $500 each. The guy drugged was fighting the promoters
student-fighter.
So who knows...
BUT...Foreman in Zaire had a lot fo things against him, he was
surrounded by so many Ali supporters, had the cut from
sparring on his mind, broke training rythm etc when the fight
was post poned and he had to rest the wound, had to change
his diet. Not to mention the climate and time of day (4am ?) that
the fight was at....all those things can sap a great fighter...
oh and lets not forget the fact he was in the ring against a
very talented, instinctually gifted former champion who was
highly motivated to win.

Good post. Let's not forget that Foreman was basically kept prisoner in Africa for a month and a half.Robinson wrote:BUT...Foreman in Zaire had a lot fo things against him, he was

Zac, when are you going to address the issue of all that gay porn you posted on here when they tried to ban you?
I found those pictures of you being sodomised by various fat middle-aged men to be very disruptive to the forum.

I do not wish to name names as I still have to deal with these
people. In any case it was in Queensland, 4 years ago on
a decent sized show.
The fighter was 'slipped' the party drug fantasy in his drink
at the weigh in.
As for Foreman being poisoned...I doubt it but who really knows,
nasty and malicious things do happen in all sports and the more
money involved the more people look to alter events.

I didn't post any gay porn. Moreover, the porn started appearing months before I was banned.Collins2000 wrote:Zac, when are you going to address the issue of all that gay porn you posted on here when they tried to ban you?
If you're refusing to name names simply because it might affect you financially, you're no better than they are, and you'll have your conscience to deal with when someone gets badly injured.Robinson wrote:Big Bad John

Re: My Top Ten Boxers Of The Last Forty Years
I told the fighter who was 'doped' what I heard as he
is a mate, asked him if he was going to go to the cop's.
His coach wanted to. I doubt he did anything. In any
case as soon as I had heard what happened I told him.
No it does not affect me financially, not to many fighters
make any money fighting MMA here in Aust, we do it for
some screwed up reason other than $.
I have not fought on that show since, and do not deal with
that promoter. It pissed me off to be honest when I found
out about it.
Seeing as Qld has no boxing or martial arts board like say
Melbourne they could not do anything about it.
And even if he did go to the police...what would they do ???

Re: My Top Ten Boxers Of The Last Forty Years
The police would have tested him, so that his story could be corroberated. In fact, if he felt he'd been drugged, he should have sought medical attention for the alleged drugging.
Sadly, no one makes money off MMA. That's one thing I hate about the sport today. It's finally become a big thing, but fighters are still getting badly beaten for $500 to $2000 simply because there are so many other people ready to step in their place if they cry foul. If one of the top-10 guys complains about only getting $10,000, he'll just be replaced with a top-20 guy.

Re: My Top Ten Boxers Of The Last Forty Years
I think he should have done something. He has and always will
have my support. He is a bit of a "she'll be right" type.
Sadly that is true, many do make money in MMA and it is not
most of the fighters. Look at the UFC...how much its PPV
grosses and how small the ENTIRE fight cards purses amount
to including bonuses.

It's in my nature to haze the newbies a little bit, even if they're establish posters while I've been on "vacation" for being a complete ass, much more so than even Granberry and Collins2000. My experience as a writer has told me that the most honest responses come from the most metaphor-driven, accusing questions. I truly believe every word you've written, and I'll never question your integrity again.

You're a writer now, Zac? Any links we can peruse? Or maybe it is in print somewhere.
PS, if it's articles regarding your experiences for Man Love Monthly or some of that other stuff that floats your peculiar boat then I can understand you keeping it quiet.
