Maskeev for Haye

Post by Phenomenal-Nutrition »

Boxrec have it scheduled, what do we think for that? Not a bad second fight at HW but Maskeev is old, slow and Peter left overs, Haye needs to beat him faster than Peter, Maskeev is still a big powerful puncher though

Personally it's a good matchup. If Thomas was good enough for Holyfield then Maskaev is good enough for the Hayemaker. :box:

I personally think its an ok fight for Haye, i mean bloody hell the guy has just been WBC Heavyweight champion. On a side note I read on teletext the other night (Sunday) that Haye plans to be in Germany this weekend for the Wlad fight, would be intersting if he calls Wlad out at ringside.

Its a good call it builds excitement if you get interviewed at ringside of the other guys fights every week.

That's why he's going apparently, though he'll have to get in line as Povetkin is there to do the same thing, with 25 flag-waving Russian models.
Haye better bring a team of his Hayemaker bimbos with him, and hopefully we can see a fight break out - which we're unlikely to see in the main event.

Are you saying a cat fight between models and ring card girls at ring side would be more entertaining than a Wladimir Klitschko fight.... yeh actually I see your point! More importantly how is Haye's german? and will the Klitschko fight be shown in the UK?

  He's a card int he!! I wonder if he's taking a megaphone with him :D .......mind you he probably won't need it considering the volume of the German crowds.

Maskaev is a very good opponent for Hayes first (proper) fight at the weightIMO. Oleg's of the standard that was promised to us by Haye, Maskaevs got fairly recent wins over Sam and Rahman and the boy can bang. A win for Haye over Maskaev is arguably a better single result than any of our current heavies have on their resume and it's only his second fight at the weight!!

Haye'll go down as a legend, because he's constantly taking risks, testing himself, pushing boundaries, he wants to entertain in and out of the ring and so far he's been able to back up all his BIG words in spectacular style. That's why he's generally one of the knowledgable-fans faves (IMO), pure Repsect! When he's finished his boxing (and MMA) career he'll probably go and dominate the promotion scene as well.

What's the betting Haye ends up Bollock deep in one (or five) of Povetkins models???

I reckon they'll have a big orgy in the middle of the ring with the Fan Man. Then Minna Wilson enters the ring and hits Wlad with her shoe.

Haye then pins Wlad for the count of 3 and retires as champ of the world.

Good test for him, could be interesting for a round or two, but think Haye will knock him out.

Personally I think its a decent fight for Haye. Maskaev is still dangerous and after his brief stint as WBC champ he has name value. Also if I remember correctly Peter failed to floor Maskev and basically just clubbed him into submission - so if Haye can floor him its a good sign. I hope Haye doesn't look past Maskaev if the bout does come off because Maskeav has been described as washed up many times in his career only to cause an upset. Yes he is chinny but he is still a banger and Haye's chin is hardly granite.

There seems to be a view that this fight is a for gone conclusion, we are talking about someone with a suspect chin at CW who is moving up for his first fight and taking on a man who has opperated throughout his carrer as a HW and won a world title, I think Haye has the talent to win the title but I think people on hear deminish his achivement by assuming he'll win everything! This is a massive risk

It's getting squeaky-bum time if he wants to fight on the revised date in Sept.

Dangerous fight but he should have too much foot speed for this guy

Good luck shifting 20000 tickets for that fight though

I must say if this is right, then its not good promoting by Hayemaker, the papers will pick up on this match, and it'll get a quick mention inthem, no fanfare by Haye and his guys annoucing it.

It's a mismatch, Haye will win withing 4. Maskaev's shot and chinny as well.

Joking aside, is there any indication that this fight is definitely on? Or do you take the BoxRec schedule as an authority?

Haye is also chinny and also never before tested at HW which is Maskaev's natural weight. Its an exciting fight and a lot more than most of us would have expected for his first fight at HW. If he performs well against him it will speak volumes for his class at the weight.

No i'm quite fair with my support and critisism of all the promoters, I like Haye and want him to go far, but if this fight is correctly listed in Boxrec, then Haye needs to learn when to get the word out.
