Pryce splits from Warren

Post by bennie »

Newbridge welterweight Bradley Pryce has parted company with trainer Enzo Calzaghe and promoter allegedly.
The 23-year-old was outpointed by Farai Musiiwa last month, his first bout in a year.
The absence followed a conviction for assaulting his then girlfriend and the subsequent suspension of his licence.
"What's past is past. I'm confident my new trainer Tony Borg can make me a world champion," Pryce told the South Wales Argus.
"For the first time in two years I feel happy in training and there's a lot more to come.
"I'm hoping for a couple of confidence-building fights and then hopefully I'll be after Junior Witter for the British title."

Who will be promoting him now then?

I thought Enzo defended him admirably over the whole wife beating thing. Obviously not :)

Careful Erik, your Inner Geek is showing.

...Although that's pretty much the first thing I thought, too.

Christ, I feel old. I can remember Tony Borg winning the Welsh ABA title in 1982. He then fought Herman Henry in the ABA semi-finals and lost a very close decision. A fight later, Henry won the national ABA title at Wembley.
Borg was a good little fighter.

To be honest, I don't know. Ulysses would know. Hopefully, he's still online.

a good friend of mine, who won the title this year, lost to docherty in the semis last year. there was a big thing in gym after docherty turned pro over who was #1 my mate or borg (who lost to docherty in the final).

Docherty looks a good prospect.
