The Golden Boy Vs The Bronx Bull At 157
I go with the Golden Boy...
Re: The Golden Boy Vs The Bronx Bull At 157
Its really hard to imagine a lightweight/welterweight like Art Aragon having much success against Jake LaMotta, even if they fought at the end of Jake's career. I don't think Aragon ever weighed 157 in his life, and certainly not when Jake was active.

Art Aragon or Oscar De La Hoya?
Either way makes no difference LaMotta wins.

I believe he meant Arnold Skaaland, who was wrestling when LaMotta was in his prime. Although I doubt Skaaland could make 157, you know, with him being 100 pounds heavier, I'd pick Skaaland by Weaver Lock if the two actually got in the ring together.Borinken25 wrote:Art Aragon or Oscar De La Hoya?

Is LaMotta going to knock him out?
He's been knocked out once in forty four fights and has beat seventeen world champions...

Oscar's basically 0-2 (1 KO loss) above 154. It's hard to imagine that he'd have a chance at one of the greatest middleweights of all time.

How about Bernard Hopkins against LaMotta...Big Bad John wrote:Oscar's basically 0-2 (1 KO loss) above 154. It's hard to imagine that he'd have a chance at one of the greatest middleweights of all time.

Even if they were the same size you could make the case that LaMotta would win. But the fact that Oscar is smaller, and having seen how he did at Middleweight, LaMotta would brutalize him.

How about Roy Jones at a catch weight of 170?
I am trying to learn how highly you think of LaMotta...

To learn about Jake LaMotta, you should watch his fights, read his autobiography and learn about the fighters he fought. I'm not too much into "mythical matchups." If you want to know how highly I rank LaMotta, here's a list:
1. Harry Greb
2. Sugar Ray Robinson
3. Carlos Monzon
4. Marin Hagler
5. Bernard Hopkins
6. Roy Jones
7. Lloyd Marshall
