audley harrison v martin rogan
Re: audley harrison v martin rogan
Dunstan was a quality fighter, tho a cruiserweight and must be about 40 now and done some years in nick
If Terry is having the better of him, it doesn't bode well for Rogan's chances against Harrison

Yeah that's fornicating amateur if you ask me! Not what I'd expect from the UK's no. 1 promoter!Emerson Poncey Name Ghent wrote:Why is Enzo wearing a belt on the poster he no longer owns

Its not been said that Terry was getting the better of him, just giving Rogan good sparring, might mean that Rogan isn't going full blast, and working on stamina by doing rounds.Coco wrote:Dunstan was a quality fighter, tho a cruiserweight and must be about 40 now and done some years in nick

But Dunstan has commented that Rogan can punch.

I think the fact that Rogan is sparring an Orthodox ex Cruiserweight to prepare for a 6ft5 southpaw tells us something.
Re: audley harrison v martin rogan
'Misleading' springs to mind, as opposed to amateur. Reminds me of other posters proclaiming 'World-Title fights' when the titles being contested are actually the WBU title.josh fg wrote:Yeah that's effing amateur if you ask me! Re: audley harrison v martin rogan
But at least it has the word "World" in WBU. The fact Enzo is displayed with somthing he simply doesn't own is a bit of slip up for Sports Network.

Yeah but it must be fornicating nightmare to find sparing against audley.jameswilson wrote:Old bones Ian wrote:Its not been said that Terry was getting the better of him, just giving Rogan good sparring, might mean that Rogan isn't going full blast, and working on stamina by doing rounds.Coco wrote:Dunstan was a quality fighter, tho a cruiserweight and must be about 40 now and done some years in nick

Re: audley harrison v martin rogan
In fairness Dunstan is a big rangy guy, a sharp counter puncher, you could get a lot worse sparring
And he is a proven campaigner at a class above what Audley has ever ventured

Re: audley harrison v martin rogan
Dunstan is looking better now than Ive seen him, his heads right and he wants it now and hes fit.

I understand people don't like Audley, but you're supposed to be knowledgeable fans on here. Hatred for Audley often seems to distort the evidence, though!
it was the case that the brits always took audley the distance and were never troubled...
the imported likes of middleton and long just rolled over
Long hadnt even been hit when he started to fall to earth ?

So in 10 days time after Audley's dealt with Rogan you wont be saying 'pah Rogan was rubbish, Audley was always gonna beat him'

he won't ever get his licence back though, can't see the BBBoC allowing it.Scrap wrote:Dunstan is looking better now than Ive seen him, his heads right and he wants it now and hes fit.

According to this he might! With the central area
I'd be suprised myself though

Met Dunstan a few times on the doors of 'Come the Revolution' in Fulham, seemed cool.Coco wrote:Didn't realise Dunstan was out, how is he keeping these days?Old bones Ian wrote:Rogan has had Terry Dunstan in for sparring, not so sure he can replicate Harrisons style that much
The 14st 4lbs would suit him these days, if he can get down to it.

josh fg wrote:Well I think he could get a european shot reasonably easy, beond that the HW devision isn't full of talent but he needs to be a lot more active than he is. The fact Haye went straight into the WBC rankings at 5 shows that the devision is pretty bare and a couple of good wins can put anyone (with the right profile in the sport and the right promoter) in the frame for a shot.boxrec wrote:Audley reckons he's still a force against heavywieght champs (was he a force at professional level ever!?)
If rogan wins, would it get him a big fight?
And if Audley won, what are the chances of him actually getting a title fight?
I dont think beating Rogan will improve Audley's European title prospects. Rogan isn't ranked top 20 by the EBU and Audley is ranked 9th or 10th (I haven't looked in a little while) which is behind Sprott, Williams and Skelton.
With the Sam v Vidoz fight ending in a draw the other day it makes it that little bit longer if he did want a shot at the European. Gammer fights for the EU (not to be confused with the EBU that Sam and Vidoz fought for) title against a tough Italian so if he managed to win that then that could be an option to improve Audley's European rating.
I dont think Frank is too interested in that tho and think he will go with either a Williams or a Skelton fight depending on whats easier to make. I dont think an Audley v Skelton fight is unrealistic either because even tho Matt had a good showing in his World title fight he doesn't seem to have many options at the moment.
Re: audley harrison v martin rogan
No I was assuming that Rogan was a glorified tune up I still don't think it would be difficult to get good fights round european level and for the european title which will take him up the rankings cos the devision is shit and he's difficult to beat (6ft 5 good jab southpaw)jameswilson wrote:josh fg wrote:Well I think he could get a european shot reasonably easy, beond that the HW devision isn't full of talent but he needs to be a lot more active than he is. Re: audley harrison v martin rogan
And Harrison will be easy to match because he generates money and is seen as vunerable

To be fair, Harrison isnt a bad boxer - he's just scared of his own shadow. The Maniac wrote:I still rate Audley as the much better boxer even though is has been written off
