SecondsOut.com are reporting that Danny Williams is hoping to fight on this weekend's show in Edinburgh in an eight-rounder, but if an opponent can't be found, will definitely appear on the Hatton-Pinto bill in Manchester on April 3.
Let's hope he's shifted some weight. 18st 11lbs for Sprott! That was a joke.

This is getting something of a norm isn't it. Danny is always going to appear on a Ricky Hatton show about a week before, only for the old 'opponent couldn't be found' situation to come up.
Danny should show up and fight even if an opponent is not found. He can get in the ring and kick his own arse in public for losing to Michael Sprott in such a disappointing manner.

i think if he does go in the ring and "beats himself" Ill erm make an excuse to go get the beers in.

in seriousness I like Danny I hope he comes back (not bigger) but better than before, Ive aleways held a soft spot for him since the Potter fight which was awesome bravery but ironically in the longer term could be the reason he seems to implode.

I think your missing the point on the weight issue Bennie, as Danny himself stated the extra weight was there to "deliberately add strength and make him stronger in the clinches", it has nothing whatsoever with lack of effective training and being a fat slob :Pbennie wrote:Let's hope he's shifted some weight. 18st 11lbs for Sprott! If Williams thought he was effective at that weight he should rewatch the fight! I think he's looked more and more ponderous as he's put on the pounds. He looked far better when he was around 17 stone, much quicker and real snap in his shots. We're going back a while here though, then again he hasn't looked good in a long while.
