Oisin Fagan V Andy Murray in the pipelines

A Dunne-Hyland fight would be brilliant. I feel a little sorry for Dunne, I see on GAA message boards where folks with no clue about/only a passing interest in Dunne are constantly claiming he's shite, "a poor, poor fighter" etc. I think that this equates with the common opinion of the man on the street. Two thirds of the country live outside Dublin, and we are a nation of begrudgers so many were delighted to see Dunne get ripped apart by Kiko.

I think, if Dunne and Hyland were to fight soon, Dunne would handle him easily, but he has been so damaged by the Martinez result that many would tip Hyland (lots of potential but at this stage, not as good as BD).

I mean, Dunne on top form with full confidence would outclass Munroe in my opinion, and there wouldnt have been any question marks about that pre-Kiko.

On the other thing, Murray will stop McDonagh in the middle rounds. I hear Murray's power has increased substantially since he returned from England, and the step down to LW will add to that.

Big Ears, you're extremely knowledgeable about the game, why do you tink Murray is Euro level at best while say McCloskey is fringe world class?

Interesting to see Declan Timlin's name cropping up for a possible Irish title tilt. His record is seriously deceiving as when i saw him fight (only once i admit) he seemed a crude brawling sort. I think Kenna, Rogan and Belshaw are all better schooled and would beat Timlin.

Well firstly when I so Murray is Euro level at best I genuinely believe he will live up to that potential and win the European title one day .
Murray while very slick doesn't have the head movement of someone like McCloskey and while Murray isn't easy to hit by any standards Paul is much more difficult to not only land a punch on but any sort of telling blow on .

McCloskey rolls with the punches very well and rarely takes the full impact from a punch, I feel McCloskey because he is unorthodox is much more difficult for opposings fighter to figure out and is able to vary his attack so well .

Murray has quick hands, is very good technically and works to body and hit pretty well . He's not a real hard puncher(neither is McCloskey) and because he fights in a conventional way is more open to pressure fighters than McCloskey .

It's not that I don't rate Murray, more so I think a lot of McCloskey . He's just quicker than Murray(of both hand and foot) is harder to hit than Murray, is smarter in the ring than Murray . It's not like Murray has a real flaw or anything, just that Paul is better at some stuff which puts him above him .

I agree dunne is disliked by the casual fans as being flashy (which he is), but that is backed up by substance. Now he has learned a lesson in the kiko fight I seen a big improvement in defence against machado. Im in college in galway and was living with country lads and they just didnt like him because of his cockiness for one I hope he strikes a balance between the two caracteristics, its the same with the oul lad he say hes "just a yuppy from dublin with a glass chin" which seems to be partially true. I didnt realise who upset country people get about what I used to think was a bit of banter.
As regards murray I want to see him in a though fight that goes the distance before I would call him european class , hopefully mcdonagh puts up a good fight!

Oisin told me that he wasn't too pleased with his performance the other night, but it doesn't seem like he had much trouble either way.

He's looking forward to the Murray fight now. Should be a good one. He was saying that Murray looked very good against McDonagh and that he looked huge.

Personally, I think Oisin's pressure might be problematic to Murray though.

What's more is that the Kimbrough fight that's being advertised is some kind of ploy on behalf of the Mountaineer Racecourse, or the promoter, or WV Commission, b/c even though they have it up on boxrec that the fight is on and Oisin has been told by Verqua's people that it's an ESPN Headliner, he still hasn't been sent the contract. It looks like they're using Fagan's name to sell tickets for the next show up there on the strenght of the quality of the last fight. And then it looks as if they're going to change the opponent at the last minute, like they did when they got Rodney Jones in to fight Verquan when they had advertised Fagan as the opponent last time out. Something fishy going on up there, that's for sure!
