OK if we want to get technical, Sports Network do not hold a Promotors licence.
Wazza does.
If a TV channel has a contract with SN its worth zip without a Promotor's licence behind it.
That's why every event is "Wazza in association with SN"
So technically speaking if Wazza Promotions was created, presumably he's not tied to Setanta ???
Conspiracy theorists they drive you mad, dont they ?
Wazza is not unique in this set up by the way.

The fights off BECAUSE ENZO MACC has straight shot at the WBO tiutle when Haye vacates.

I believe that is the reason the bill is scrapped.

Rogan Vs AH will be in the September 6th bill along woth AMIR KHAN and ENZO!

Just wait and see!

See BBC for the link to Enzo/WBO.

Fair comment, if true, DG - but why would that mean that the whole bill has to be scrapped ?
Plenty of fighters in the SN stable - and many are ready to fight at short notice.
You've gotta feel for the lads on the rest of the bill if true.

I feel sorry for the guys involved, but top of the bill AH vs Rogan? I doubt Fwank would see that sell, people would want their money back and/or slag off the main event - plus AH 'might' make Rogan look bad and easily outbox him.

Not that Enzo would have fought anyone decent so I agree the bill could have gone on, the TV date thing is rubbish!

Are you sure about that?

Alexeev v Banks is mandated by the WBO, for the vacant belt.

However, Banks may be doing Contender series 4 instead (all cruiserweights), so that did get me wondering.

Mac v Alexeev, vacant WBO title? Can Warren outbid the mighty Universum? Mac would need every advantage he can get.

Has it been confirmed that Contender 4 will be Cruiser, not Heavy's? Perhaps this is Versus's stipulation when signing the TV contract.

One of those 2 is not ready due to signing to fight elsewhere, I think Banks.

Thats why the show is scrapped imo.

I am sure you will see AH Vs Rogan at some point and where better than 6th September - thats where ENZO will next fight - well, that's Fwanks plan for enzo.

Rogan seems to be gutted. Understandably so. But did no one warn him that this happens now & again with Sports Network, cancelling, postponing, etc etc?

Agree with that. Inactivity was possibly his biggest problem, considering he didn't turn pro until almost 30.

If he goes back to Sky I would imagine sky would have it on pay per fight basis.

I have a feeling there will be more of this show cancelling as main fights are scuppered or cancelled.

The reason for such a statement, is the promotional stakes are warming up and there is going to be shit going on as people jockey for position.

As the days pass, more and more information trickles out, but it appears DG was right, and Setanta bailed out because there was no Enzo topping the bill.

It appears the relationship between SN and Setanta is at an all time low - It is a good job SN managed to get Khan under contract, because it gives him some leverage elsewhere.

Rumours of a 6 fight deal offer over at SKY, and even the BBC taking some interest.

Old Fwanky is running out of broadcasters to upset. If he does go back to sky I can't see them letting him get away with murder like he used to as for the BBC.... nothing would surprise me

Hang on a second - SN is contracted to Setanta. Right or wrong ?
How can he just walk away back to Sky ?
Surely not Wazza showing double standards is it ?
Calzaghe getting his bollocks sued for an alleged breach of verbal contract (which is very tenuous indeed) but Wazza can do what he feels like ?
Obviously thrown his doll out the pram cos Setanta have the audacity to query the quality of his bill.
Lets get the Haymaker bandwagon on the road.
Roll on 20-09-08.
