How far are Audley, Froch and Haye from World Title Fights?

Personally I think Audley Harrison, Carl Froch and David Haye are ready NOW to fight for World titles and probably win them.

When Audley say's he'll be in the Top 10 World Heavyweights in 18 months, it makes me bemused why the guy is going slow. Apart from Vitali Klitschko and Mike Tyson I honestly don't think there's another Heavyweight who would beat him now, let alone in 18 months! If he dosen't watch out, a Tyson like heavyweight may suddenly appear a year from now and clean up the division and Audley will miss the boat!

Same goes for Froch, with the virtual retirement of Ottke and Calzaghe moving up weights, I hope Froch dosen't waste time getting the Lonsdale belt when the World Belt will soon be up for Grabs!

As for Haye, he'd beat all the current Cruiserweight World Champions in the same Night if he fought them tomorrow!

Here are the current Champions in their Weight's :

HEAVYWEIGHT - Audley Harrison

WBC - Sanders/ Vitali K - a 50/50 fight for Audley at this stage
WBA - John Ruiz - Would KO ruiz in 6 rounds
IBF - Chris Byrd - Easily beat Byrd over 12 rounds
WBO - Wlad K/L Brewster - eaither one would be a easy night for Audley

CRUISERWEIGHT - David Haye

WBC - Wayne Brathwaite - Would easily KO Wayne in a couple of rounds
WBA - Jean marc Mormeck - Another easy KO for Haye
WBO - Johnny Nelson - It'd take few rounds before Haye KO's Nelson

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT - Carl Froch

WBC - Marcus Beyer - Would easily beat Beyer for late stoppage
WBA/IBF - Sven Ottke - Would easily beat Ottke on Clear UD
WBO - Joe Calzaghe - Personally, I'd take Froch over Calzage now!

So what do you guys think? Are these 3 ready for World Title Fights NOW! Are they moving too slowly?

Im a big fan of all 3 of these guys. In fact if I could pick just 3 boxers to support it would be these guys, but World titles now, I aint sure. Audley definately needs rounds and I certainly dont think fighting Wladimir Klitschko would be a formality win. John Ruiz is the worst of all the current World champs and Aud may win if the fight were to take place soon, but I cant help thinking these guys are too seasoned for Aud, he hasnt gone 10 rounds let alone 12. Vitali right now aint a 50-50 Vitali would be a big favorite as he is probably the best in the World right now.
Haye is similar, he needs rounds, but he has time on his side so lets not go calling for him to fight for World titles just yet.
Froch needs to get established on the European scene before going for the World titles and like Haye has time on his side.
Let them do it their way and it will happen.

I've said it before and i'll say it again Froch will never be good enough to win a major world title. From what i've seen so far he just doesn't have the ability. If you think that after his last fight he can mix it with the best in this division you are deluding yourself.
As for the other two they have more of a chance but neither of them are ready at the moment. Especially Haye, he's got a long way to go before he wins a world title.

Carl Froch is ready for a world champion all right. WBU champ Matthew Barney. I've heard rumours of a meeting between the two.

Audley has not fought anyone of any calibre yet to fathom if he will be good enough for the world title.
Froch on his last showing is definitely far from world class.
Haye is a fighter I do like, yet as of yet not really shown what he can really do. So for him it is still too early.

At least Audley Knows where he is at, and he has been stepping it up in his last two fights, but like what scott ledoux said Audley will need to test himself with a fighters who will let him see different styles, I personally think he should fight bigger heavyweights as from what I recalled his only really tall opponent has been Julius Long and guys like the Klitchskos are just as big but the klitchskos have tremendous skill unlike Long. Since Audley has also said he whats to fight European Level Oppsition at this stage I believe he should fight a fighter like Balu Sauer to see where he is at or Derrick Jefferson. But maybe he would fight someone like Steffen Nielsen who is still a viable Opponent but he is smaller then Audley. My main point is that if Audley wants to be ready for World Class he should fight some big Heavyweights who are on par with him in terms of Height and size. But Audley I know realizes that, so i guess thats why he said he nedded at least 18 months to be ready.

Julius Long was about 7foot. V Klitschko is 6'6" how are they just as big. Audley has fought more big opponents, Audley is 6'5" he fought Mark Krence and Derek McCafferty who are about the same (I know Krence is 6'5" but Im sure the boxrec stat for McCafferty's heaight is wrong.) The word is that Auds next opponent will be Nielksen. It would make sense as well as Hersisia was raked 12 by the EBU and Nielsen I think is about 8th or 9th. Rene Monse tho is a 6foot2 southpaw who's only loss is a splitdecision to Luan Krasniqui, Monse knocked Krasniqui down in that fight.

Audley is about 5 or 6 fights away from a genuine championship fight I think.

Froch is nowhere near ready, he really has a lot to work on.

Likewise Haye who needs to concentrate on getting rounds as opposed to knockover fights.

None of them are ready!

From the list of champions or potential champions you listed, Audley would have a chance against Brewster and maybe Ruiz (at a push) right now, but the others would get the better of him.

David Haye couldn’t live with any of the champs at the moment.

As for you saying Froch being ready for Calzaghe, just look at the Boxrec rating system. Froch is ranked 37. A guy called Jerson Ravelo, who I don’t know much about has a similar record and is ranked at 31. Looking at the opponents he’s fought, I don’t recognise anyone, and only recognise the names on Froch’s record cos I follow the scene, and none are exceptional. If Warren put Ravelo in with Calzaghe, everyone would call ‘mis-match’………..

It’s not that they won’t make it, it’s just about seasoning, and none of them are seasoned enough………yet!

Thinking about it, I think Audley and Haye have the potential to be real world beaters. I think Froch is a little overrated, and will prob become a decent contender. I doubt he will be as good as some people seem to think, I just dont see it.

Nasty's just on the wind-up again. Vitali Typsko is a better super-middleweight prospect in Europe than Froch.

Of the three, Audley is by far the closest, but even he is probably 5-6 fights away from being anything like ready.

Froch and Haye both have a lot of flaws to tidy up to even being talking about them being world champions.

I think Frotch has loads of ability...but he lookes way to casual...as if the fights won before a glove is thrown....i dont know what Mcracken`s been upto because what the fornicate has happend to Frotch`s movement?, you can afford to leave the hand/hands down if your on the move all the time..but Carl just seems to stand and try to slugg..

Because he's never known any better. That style comes from purely watching fighters, and not even attempting to think about it or mould it into somethig of his own. Hence why it is so flawed. RJ and Naz got away with it, cos they had great reflexes, but also cos it's their style modified from Ray Leonard and Ali or whoever not carbon copies. Carl is like Roy Jones gone wrong.

yeah i agree, froch seems to laid back, probably believing the bbc hype machine and watching too many of those cobraman/froch cartoons the beeb created in his honour (wtf was that all about).
he looks like he can take/give a shot and he did dig deep but for me he has got to up his workrate.
i think haye is class. he looks well balanced and co-ordinated and can bang a bit too. i know it can all fall apart as he moves up the ladder but he has got that look of a classy fighter. (reminds me a little of the `other` cobra, don curry)
audley, i think he`ll be a world champ.

Froch and Audley have a real advantage in being in divisions underpopulated with class.

Froch does need to do more work. He needs to go in with busy fighters, not keep looking for these counters, change the pace of the match to his own and cope with the same being done back to him. He did dig in well last time out but should he have had to? I think he has the skills to dominate fights far more than he is doing, and against the better 168 guys he'll come unstuck fairly easily at the moment. That said, despite his faults I do like him, although there are big things to work on.

Harrison, maybe, coming along nicely but I'll bang the drum that says he should be stepping up his comp. Hersisia had a great record but it was pretty clear he was another fall guy. I just want to see Audley in with someone who will catch him, hurt him, make him move, and see how he reacts. But I like him as well.

Haye I'm actually less sold on, certainly at the moment, although his talent is also without question. Haye seems to be settled into a style too soon in his pro career - like he's worked out how he wants to fight and is now trying to follow the plan. Nice idea, but his actual style can sometimes seem like more fashion over substance at this time. Plus he's going up into a division which, whilst untrumpeted, has a stack load of talent at the top. As a comparison with Froch, if we're questioning whether Froch is the best 168 prospect in Europe, it's an equally viable question as to whether Haye would handle another UK cruiser prospect in Maccarinelli.
