Both fighters wore black with silver trimming.
The colour of shorts would have been agreed at the weigh in and the officials would have ensured there was no clash - made even more acute by the involvement of the final arbiters - TV !
I can only assume Francis lodged different colours to those he fought in.
Strictly speaking, the ref or the officials at ring side could have declared a no contest.
I came across this situation a few years back with Rhodes.
I wont say who the opponent was, but he refused to fight unless Ryan changed his shorts.
To be fair Rhodes did turn up with the wrong ones.
He ended up having to beg an already used pair from another boxer who was still around.
Never heard of sanctions being imposed before.
Where have you heard this, fatman ?

I thought not making sense was at Least worthy of a top spot! Did not stop you rating Scott harrison and he is not even licensed!

Apparently, according to Francis interviewing on TV yesterday, it was because he didnt take a spare pair with him?!? Its regulation that you take two pairs, apparently. As such why didnt they make Oakey change his?

laughable

You are completely correct. At the weigh in the BBBofC official actually writes down the colour of the shorts, if there is a problem it is at this stage the official will call for both fighters managers/trainers to sort out any potential issues.

A similar thing happens with gloves, for chamionship fights there will be something like 4 to 6 pair of gloves, both fighters will go to the desk choose their gloves, the official will then sign the gloves and put them in a sealed bag, and then the official or "the whip" will come to the dressing room to hand out the appropriate gloves. You also get the official and a member of the opposition team watch the bandaging of the opponent to make sure everything is above board.

To be honest I think it really is bloody stupid if Francis gets anything other than a small slap on the wrist for his transgression, the best man won the fight fair and square, so bloody what if he won in the wrong shorts, as long as everything else was done properly who cares.

the same thing happend with micky steeds (only one pair of shorts) on the same show and he was fined and told that if he diddnt pay the fine he would lose his license i think the board need to look at themselves and come in to the 21st centery no disrespect to anyone but how could you not spot the difference between micky steeds and radcliff green

Both fighters are well aware that 2 pairs are required. Dean will get a slap and fined. Why should
tony be the only one to change, normally we just spin a coin
