Malcolm 'Flash' Gordon

Whatever happened to this guy. He used to sell a mimeogram thing and helped Alex Wallau uncover the Don King/ABC/Ring Magazine phoney US Championships but has he been sighted in recent times?

His newsletter 'went' a few years back. Not sure why he gave it up.

Last I heard he was still in Sunnyside, Queens, NY. I think it quit publishing in the 1980s, but I have no idea why.

The newsletter was called "Tonight's Boxing Program" and it was great!! On the day it showed up in the mail, we'd all fight over it.

At the cbz, Randy Gordon (no relation) recently wrote that he last saw Flash right after Randy was appointed chairman of the NYSAC, and Flash dropped in for a surprise visit at the commission offices to congratulate Randy on the appointment.

Alex Wallau was an employee of ABC TV which was responsible for the whole scandal.

Idiot Roone Arledge, the head of ABC TV, was played like a violin by Don King.

Wallau was the one who actually started smelling a rat, risking his job to expose the bullshit. Fair play to him for that.

Interesting that Mr Integrity Howard Cosell slid away from the scandal untouched, if he was 5% of the expert he made himself out to be then surely he would have realised it was fake too. Johnny Ort, Nat Loubet and Mark Kram were not so fortunate.

But Don King went on unscathed,

while the Mark Krams and John Orts who were his stooges were fired.

Roone Arledge's ABC TV went blithely on using and enabling Don King despite the fact the whole thing was King's creation.

A perfect illustration of the level of total stupidity the boxing "media" displays.

King, the creator of the crooked mess, continued on as if he wasn't connected to it

while his stooges Kram and Ort were destroyed.

Teflon Don made a show of firing Flood and Braverman too, only to start working with them as soon as the dust settled. I find it amazing that ABC continued to work with King after that, he truly is a remarkable guy. Total scumbag, but a remarkable guy.

King destroyed boxing, with the help of Roone Arledge's ABC TV.

Don King was an asshole but it's not a shame we can't go back to the day when Ma and Pa gathered the youngins to sit around the tube radio and listen to the latest fight.

Boxing is dead?

Oh, you mean bare knuckle boxing is dead.

Granny, you old perv, tell me about those shorts they used to wear in the good old days. You know, the ones that looked like thongs. I bet you miss those. Do you get those lads who work in your garden to wear them on a hot day?

:D

Granny, do you ever get them impression that I think you are ridiculous?

collins, the CodePink boxrec poster with the fixation on homosexuality, can't decide whether to post under his new alias, TheOne, or his other name.

It's called schizophrenia.

Poor collins.

He asked about Malcolm Gordon.

You responded with no info on Gordon just a rant about Alex Wallau.

Don't be a hypocrite.

Now, what do you know about Gordon? Anything?

I remember those fortnightly things he put out previewing fights. He knew his boxing but he seemed really negative. I subscribed for 6 months then he just disappeared...

Anything to add, Gran? How about a monologue of The Ali Industry?

I don't think he fancied your caricature.
