Not the prime versions of any of those gentlemen because it would be a massacre but a post prime but not totally shot version:
1978 Muhammad Ali- The Ali of the second Spinks fight who showed up in his best physical shape since The Rumble In The Jungle but whose legs, hand speed, timing, and reflexes were already beginning to substantially betray him
1994 George Foreman- The cuddly George Foreman who was losing just about every round to Michael Moorer until he got cute and gave George a stationary target
1988 Larry Holmes- The past his prime Larry Holmes who got knocked out by Mike Tyson
2000 Mike Tyson - The thirty four year old Mike Tyson who knocked out the venerable journeyman Lou Savarese in one round
Klitschko V Foreman, Ali, Holmes, And Tyson

Re: Klitschko V Foreman, Ali, Holmes, And Tyson
If we are talking about the 2008 Wladimir Klitschko:
I think the Ali of the second Spinks fight could have outboxed him.
The George Foreman who knocked out Michael Moorer would only have a punchers chance so I think Wlad would outpoint him.
Wlad would probably TKO the Larry Holmes who got knocked out by Mike Tyson.
The Mike Tyson who knocked out Lou Savarese would have a chance for the first few rounds, but if he couldn't land a KO punch then Wlad would stop him in the middle rounds.

Either Klitschko at their best would beat all the fighters mentioned.
I know the Klitschkos are oretty much despised on this board but the guys listed are all finished in the years listed.

The tyson that smashed Golotta may beat wlad. But I think Wlad wins, but the greats beat him.

1) I thought Ali moved rather well against Spinks...He missed more than usual...Spinks did have the herky-jerky style that Norton and Frazier had that always troubled Ali... Yeah, he didn't have much else to compliment it....Ezzard wrote:Either Klitschko at their best would beat all the fighters mentioned.

2) Larry Homes fought fourteen ten round fights after the age of forty...
3) Big George was never stopped in his second carnation....
4) Tyson looked good against Savarese and a few others in that era...
Perhaps you are right...I have no respect for the Klitschko brother as elite fighters...For instance I think a crop of second tier 60's and 70's fighters beat them... I would bet the house on a Lyle, Young, Shavers, Norton, and a few others to beat them....
Re: Klitschko V Foreman, Ali, Holmes, And Tyson
Thing is Holmes actually trained for those other bouts (whereas he took Tyson on short notice and Tyson was better than the guys he went on to fight) and managed to control the fights with his jab. I'm not sure at that age he could still do that with the Klits...TheOneIsHere2008 wrote:1) I thought Ali moved rather well against Spinks...He missed more than usual...Spinks did have the herky-jerky style that Norton and Frazier had that always troubled Ali... Young would beat them. The others would be 50-50 fights... If you put the Klits in the 70s they'd be thought of as good contenders. They wouldn't dent the elite fighters but they'd win some and lose some to everyone else.
