Not really. It was pretty much even with neither man landing anything solid in the first two rounds, but Toney landed some good shots in the third. Rahman made a good point afterwards about that though. He said how many right hands did Toney land before the cut? None. He said it was only after the cut that Toney started landing, which was true.

Whether he was looking for a way out or not is another argument. To me it was a fairly bad cut, but not one which warranted the fight being stopped and that was basically the argument of the officials in regards to the ruling as well. They said that the cut didn't warrant the fight being stopped, so when Rahman said he couldn't see it was determined that he quit.

Neither one of these guy's is the answer to the heavyweight divisions mess though, which we all know anyway. Toney still has all the ring savvy in the world, but he's just to fat, slow and old these days. Even at his lowest weight since the Holyfield fight his gut was hanging out.

You have to shake your head (in an despondant way) and reluctantly chuckle about the HW scene. I would hazard a guess and say that more fans were looking forward to Toney-Rahman than Vlad- Thompson - if that is the case what a sad state of affairs that is. Both fights met the required disappointment level for different reasons. Jeez I hope that Haye does a number on them all and rattles up the whole division in the process.

Anyway, looks like Toney can move on from this. Rahman should have come to London for his beating.

He still has the best ability in the division. I hope he keeps his weight down and gets out again soon. It was class watching him coach his coach between rounds.
I wasn't quite the high brow paper boy you were I just used to look boobs in the snicket. Nice fight report there matey, I havent seen the fight where did you get it? Any chance you have a little Toney bias and are seeing something that is long gone? Before this fight I thought Toney was done, 1 of my all time faves too though with his defense and counters
