A dutchie is a 'dutch pot', a large cooking pot. "pass the dutchie pon the left hand side" means 'my pardon kind sir/madam who sits to the right of me, would you mind awfully handing me my dinner'.

I noticed an MMA fighter was banned??
I never realised there was drug tests in that sport, and a blind eye was turned to drug abuse

Yes,

Stephan Bonnar was banned but I think he was banned only from the UFC - a suspension I think - he took part in the ultimate fighter show and is a UFC fighter.

Also Sean 'The Muscle Shark' Sherk - UFC Lightweight Champion, stripped for talking drugs.

Like any pro sport Coco, the drug testing regime MMA fighters undertake is dictated by the Athletic Commision (in the US at least) under which their fight take place - UFC events take place for the most part in VEgas - therefore when fighting in Nevada the fighters are subject to the same strigent testing as boxers.

Japan is a law unto itself, however. For the most part their is no formal steroid testing carried out over there, so it becomes a bit of a jacked up free for all!

Plenty of others to add to that list from MMA.

Off the top of my head there was Hermes Franca (roids), Josh Barnet (roids), Tim Sylvia (roids), Nick Diaz (weed), Melvin Guilliard (coke), Kevin Randleman (submitting a fake urine sample), Diego Sanchez (weed), Tim Creduer (roids) - all were banned by athletic commissions for varying time frames but typically 6 months to 1 year I think..

A cutchie is another name for a spliff, the "pass the dutchie pon the left handside" was changed from "pass the cutchie" so it could be released to the mainstream

unfortunately, for the fresh faced kids of musical youth not enough of them could put the cutchie (and in some instances much, much stronger stuff) down and most of them ended up in a bad way..

shame.
