Has boxrec's tape measure gone mental?

Post by jameswilson »

Iv just checked Danny Williams' record on boxrec and he is listed at 6ft3 all of a sudden. Audley's also shrunk to 6ft4.

Why are these fighters heights changing to incorrect measurements?

Hatton's always been announced as either 5'7 or 5'7 1/2 .
Williams on the other hand is between 6'0 1/2 and 6'1 1/2, and not a tiny bit more .

Colin Lynes has always been put down at about 5'7 and he's gotta be close to 6'0

I'm 6'2" and have stood next to both Danny and Audley. I'm slightly taller than Danny and significantly shorter than Audley. I'd say 6'0"-6-1" for Danny and 6'6" for Audley.

Surely the BBBC has official heights for its licensed boxers?

danny is smaller

audley is def 6 6

danny's height was exposed against vitali but never noticed it in any other fights

infact corrie sanders has always been listed 6 3 and he seemed a lot taller than danny in his vitali fight...if that makes sense

infact i think all boxers should adopt the vitali measuring system

Yep, same here, Stodd next to both of them and would agree.

Danny is around 6'1" Audley 6' 5". I'm 6 3" and always notice when someone is above my eyeline, which Danny wasn't.

If Colin is anywhere near six foot I'm must be 8ft 9. (I'm 6-1 for reference).

I notice only the big guys have declared their height, those over 6 ft. Danny is exactly my height give or take half an inch which is around 6 ft 1 inch. Tyson I think is around 5ft 11 and always looked small against most of his opponents.
