According to Brazilian sources he never made the trip because he had fallen victim of a "Viral infection". Maybe Kelson had this intestine outbreak because he finally came to terms with what was gonna happen to him.

Boxingtalk gets lucky once in a blue moon. The official website for the Brazilian Boxing federation also has the same news.

Kelson would dispute in next day 3 the super temporary heading has taken of the WBO World-wide Organization of Boxe, having faced the English Richard Hatton. The information was sent to the CBBoxe for the company who manages the career of the Brazilian, Workshop of Ideas. according to titular by the Workshop, Ruy Bridges, the decision was taken in virtue of Kelson not to be able to present 100% in the day of the fight, in view of that it does not have enough time for recovery. Could Hatton be fighting Denmark's Dennis Holbaek Pedersen? The name has just been mentioned to me and does seem to make sense. He's a lightweight, after all.

damn, this is a mess, and looking bad....

fightnews:

Kelson Pinto has withdrawn from his April 3rd interim WBO light welterweight title bout with Ricky Hatton. Pinto is stating that he has the flu although last week he was alluding that the pregnancy of his wife could become an obstacle to the upcoming date. Also, numerous sources have indicated that Pinto is not pleased with his manager Ricardo Maldonado and how their financial relationship is being handled. Several fighters have terminated their managerial and promotional affiliations with Maldonado amid allegations of suspect business practices. Pinto is a close friend with fellow Brazilian WBO lightweight champion Aclenio Freitas, who severed his connection with Maldonado and allegedly of The Sports Network in 2002 due to allegations of mismanagement of his financial affairs. In June 2003, Marco Antonio Barrera ended his relationship with Mexican manager/promoter when he learned that Maldonado did not comply with applicable state and federal law.
-------------------------
In regards to the Pinto pullout, WBO President Paco Valcarcel stated to FightNews, “I am so sad. It was a great opportunity for Pinto. Pinto and Hatton are great fighters. This was a opportunity for both fighters to demonstrate all of their skills to the boxing public.” Valcarcel noted that the WBO has not been officially notified of Pinto’s illness or that he is not fighting this Saturday. There is also a possibility that the British Boxing Board of Control will penalize Pinto because of the late notice. Valcarcel stated that the WBO would recognize any reprimands that are levied by the BBBC.
-------------------------
It is rumored that The Sports Network will go ahead with a replacement fighter against Hatton and that the fight will now be under the auspices of the WBU, a fringe sanctioning body. Hatton won the WBU light welter title back in March 2001 and he has made 11 defenses of the lightly regarded belt. The Hatton-Pinto WBO championship fight was the headliner to a Showtime doubleheader championship fight which will still showcase the former WBA 140-pound champ Sharmba Mitchell battling mandatory challenger Michael Stewart for the interim IBF super lightweight belt. It is not known if Showtime will move up the Mitchell-Stewart fight to main event status nor is the televised status of Hatton vs. TBA known.

Mitchell Vs Hatton would be the logical fight but Warren wouldn't put Hatton in with Mitchell after all he has only had 35 fights he can't be ready yet
