hi all as ive said before micky trains at our gym well what i mean is he did train he has not done anything for weeks i think coaching the lads is taking its toll on him . He has to rush meals in between clients so has to eat snacks so he is blowing up in weight i cant see him getting to cruiser at this rate and also the clients at the gym are always asking him out for drinks which he has done on a few occasions and by the look of him maybe a kebab or two as well .I think the lonsdale belt is gonna be a big ask for mick and even if he did win it it will need to be elasticated because it wont fit him. I remeber going to one of his fights and he borrowed some shorts well if he needs to borrow some at this fight i hope butterbean is close by. It is such a shame to see mick like this it is a huge oppontunity for him and he should take it serious but he isnt . I see mick as a friend and when i try to speak to him about the norton fight to say this is important and you should be training your plums off he just changes the subject . I dont think his heart is in it plus his girlfriend is pregnant and he has a young daughter maybe it is too much for him being a dad , coach , boxer

It doesn’t matter if Steeds trains for two months or two days – and its more likely to be the latter – he is going to lose to Norton in September.

This fight will illustrate the harsh reality of levels: area vs domestic.

Norton is hardly that good though is he.

I think Rob, if anything, is underrated, not getting the credit he deserves because of his style: a southpaw counterpuncher.

Mark Hobson has been quoted as saying Norton hit him harder than Enzo.

Paul Bonson has boxed both Steeds and Norton – Rob being the only person to halt him with punches in his long career – and said Norton would easily wipe the floor with Mickey when they eventually meet.

Is Mickey Steeds really any better than Tommy Eastwood or Lee Swaby? Not for me, no. This will become evident in September.

At the end of the day tom i do respect your opinion but you are very biased to fighters from your area and maybe you should be more like the BBC if you catch my drift.

I am no big fan of Rob Norton but I agree with Tom's assessment - he is a huge cruiser,a southpaw and counter puncher.

As long as he hasnt got too old he will have too much for Steeds, weigh drained or not.

teddy 007 yeah your right the only person to motivate micky is micky but time is running out he will have to crash diet to make the weight which will sap his strength and stamina . I dont need to write this for micky to read it has been said round the gym he knows he has a lot to do . I think its that he is so busy trying to earn a living from coaching he has not got the time and if you let your clients hit the pads for hours on end your arms and shoulders ache and dont feel like training . At least one thing that you can rely on is mickys chin

Mick was only a small amount over for the Green fight. Hopefully he could get down as that's becoming an interesting division again with Dolan fighting there now.

whats this ment to mean you twat as you may know i an a micky steeds fan (i have never met him yet) but if he cant be bothered to train then i aint going to waste my time going to his next fight with norton ???
i aint being funny but norton aint nothing realy every time he has stepped up he has been beat he is a old man now in boxing tearms and only ever been handed easy fights ???
but what i am woundering is if micky fancies the job and is still there after say 6 or 7 rounds will norton want to fight in the trenchies ( i dont think so he'll bottle it) but we will see on the night ????
