I'm betting on the Santa Cruz fight instead. I've put all my points on a decision win. I've lost most of what I've won, so I thought "why not?"

Lacy should win unless he's shot to shit. Mendoza is a crude brawler type. Then Lacy-Taylor at the end of the year but i'd rather see Froch-Taylor to be honest. Lacy will just trade off his name now, definately damaged goods from here on in.

Jeff Lacy is a waste of physical talent in my opinion.

Still got that clubbing left hand. It's got points win all over it but you never know. Remeber Lacy beig banded about as the next big thing, Tyson of the middle divisions, then JC learned him.

What a silly move on your part. Betting 60 to gain 10.

Yes, he should have gone for that career as a swimsuit model.

i know but if you look on boxpicks there are not a lot of 'certs' up to choose from

my last one was Gamboa all in for KO, the odds for that were about the same

I've chucked 1/2 my money on a Lacy KO, and 1/2 on a Cruz decision :-?

The only way to win enough to climb back up the rankings is to bet on outcomes, not just decisions :(

24.07.08

To the delight of Jermain Taylor and Lou Dibella, Jeff Lacy laboured to a majority decision last night over Columbian Epifano Mendoza.

The Floridian looked better than other recent outings, but still looked vulnerable and not as good as 'pre-Calzaghe' by some margin.

Lacy was level on two of the three judges' scorecards heading into the ninth round, but Lacy (24-1, 17 ko) landed a late flurry of punches to win the round against a tired Mendoza.

Mendoza (28-6-1, 24 knockouts) was hit hard by a right hand in the first round and a left hand in the fourth. Mendoza almost knocked down Lacy in the second, and in the fifth round a right knocked out his mouthpiece.

Mendoza landed a right uppercut in the seventh and eigth rounds that had Lacy wobbling to his corner after the bell.

Two of the judges scored the fight for Lacy at 97-93 and 96-94. The third scored the fight 95-95.

It is now expected for Dibella to make the fight between Taylor and Lacy for November this year. Meanwhile Carl Froch will likely look to now fight #3 challenger Jean Pascal for the vacant WBC title.

Terrible. If he laboured to a decision against the likes of Mendoza then there is no hope for him. Calzaghe has effectively finished his career.

Lacy-Taylor?? No thanks!

froch-pascal should be interesting.

shame it ain't taylor because he's a name.

but pascal is a good prospect.

still a good fight for froch if they can land it. :box:

Taking a bloody long time all this. I thought Lou Dibella was honest and straightforward on Sultana recently. I feel for Froch his patience and loyalty are being tested to the limit. But you just know Taylor is going to fight Lacy, then move on to one of the old-timers like Jones, Calzaghe or Hopkins subject to their next result.

As K-G will alway spoint out, its about money, not kudos or ethics. Just flat plain money. Froch doesn't bring it as we may feel he does.

Froch should have a good chance of beating pascal and picking up the title though. Will this bring big fights and money, maybe, maybe not. It didnt with Witter.
